Worship to A New Level

We can make a difference on the earth with our praise.

We are worshipping on New Levels

Worship to break through

In church, our worship leader has stirred up the worshippers and encouraged us to keep going — to break through the air…. Yes, there is a prince of the air and when we really stick to worship for breakthrough, then the angels and the anointing interfere with the devil and his agenda!

Looking across the globe, the world seems to be in combat with itself. We are — perhaps — in the time Jesus spoke about in Matthew 24. We are close to the End, I hope, because I reckon things are only going to decline before they get a whole lot better.

“And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” (Matthew 24:4-8)

Worship makes a difference

We can push through the darkness. We can praise through to the Third Heaven, where the angels dwell. We can hugely influence what happens on the earth with our praise.

A cautionary note

As we glorify GOD through our worship, let us be aware and not ignore the pull of self glory. Whether we are singing, dancing, or playing an instrument, we have the opportunity to express our pure joy toward the LORD. How wonderful! But let us also be aware it is important to keep our attention on Him.

There is a huge pull against our worship, and it is vital we don’t get enticed into self-glorification. I’ll explain with an anecdote:

Recently, I was in the congregation, worshipping with everyone else through music and song. I love to dance and sometimes I do go forward to get involved in dance during the music worship time. On this particular occasion, I literally felt a warm pressure on my back, urging me to go forward. So I did.

As I was dancing, the drumming became more and more robust. It was excellent! And the drumming encouraged me to dance with more intensity, more dedication.

So, I did.

But there was a distinct moment when, as the Holy Spirit seemed to fill the room through the emphasis of the drums with supernatural power and glory, I felt — for a split second — to give over to the power of the music.

I’m so glad I discerned what I did… because I believe that power was of the flesh, not of GOD. I could have pushed into the power of the music even more. But that was a temptation to revelry, not a continuation of worship.

I continued to dance. I did not give up. But nor did I give over to the music. The music had been encouraging me to worship. But when I was struck by a spirit of revelry, I didn’t yield, I didn’t get carried away, I didn’t forget GOD. But I continued to worship Him.

I was truly blessed

The time of worship with music was profound, as it usually is at my church. But in this particular experience, I learned a precious insight: we worship only GOD and only Him do we serve. Music is such a powerful force, that worship can slip into our flesh. We can discern, distinguish between flesh and spirit, and focus on the LORD to carry us through.

I didn’t have to stop. I just needed to ensure my heart was on GOD, that it didn’t drift into excitement for the worship itself.

As I experienced this opportunity to see the difference, I was blessed. Thank you LORD!

Thank you for this Sarah. This encourages me to always remember that to God be the glory. Our worship to Him creates an atmosphere of miracles and wonders.

Amen. And your worship, as I recall, is so so sweet! Thank you for sharing, Linda.
I was just thinking of you recently. How lovely to hear from you!
