Keeping our Perspective: What are we here for?

When we feel dismayed, if know we need to keep moving forward but aren’t sure our purpose or direction, something will nags at us. An unanswered “Why are we Here?” can plague us.

We’re here for one reason… to give glory to God.

As I live and move and have my being, I give him pleasure. Like a father watching his child grow, God looks upon each of us as His workmanship, His protege, His delight.

We are here for many opportunities and experiences; we’ll have some highs and some lows throughout our lives. We will do many things with our time, talents and skills. But most of all, we are here to delight the LORD and to delight in Him as He relishes our time with Him.

Celebrate: You are fearfully and wonderfully made!

Let’s give Him glory for our successes and achievements. Let’s give Him glory as we enjoy our lives on this earth. Let’s give Him all the glory as we live and work and have our very being.

Lovely. Hallelujah! Amen.

A Prayer

I pray that each who knows the LORD will be ready, willing and able to fulfil the purpose God has. I pray that each of us will be at peace with ourself, and with those around us — family, friends and strangers. I pray God’s light will shine in and through us, so that we will rejoice and celebrate all He is and all He has done for us. I pray for peace in my heart and yours, that the world will know us by our love. (1John 3:16)
