We need more prophecy
Time is racing. Jesus is coming soon. Are we ready?
Chris Wickland, Veronika West, Rob Cates are three British people with a record of accurate prophecy. These are three I’ve heard of. They are contemporary. There will be many more.
I think in our churches, we need more prophecy. Surely the LORD is speaking. Are we listening? Are those with the gift of prophecy listening to the LORD? Do they even know they have this gift?
Of prophetic people who have words to share, do their church leaders invite, encourage, endorse prophecy in their congregations?
I simply think we need more of the LORD’s current word to His children. Are we listening?
Weigh up any Word given
Whenever we hear a word, let’s neither ignore it nor immediately jump on it. Rather,
- We need to assess it based upon the Bible.
- We need to consider it personally. What is the LORD saying to each of us personally? Does this word complement?
- We need to test it, chew on it, discuss it with others, pray about it.
What is the LORD’s Heart
Pastors are given the responsibility for their flock… ensuring the members are spiritually, emotionally safe and growing.
Teachers are called to draw others to the Word and to grow in understanding as they follow Jesus.
Evangelists are powerful ministers to bring the unbeliever to faith, the skeptic to consider, the believer to grow and reach out to the lost.
Prophets are called to wake us up, to draw us to GOD, to allow the Holy Spirit to convict us and draw us nearer to where the LORD wants us to be spiritually. They also speak into society — to share the LORD’s heart in the current season. They can make us aware of where we are on GOD’s time table, so that we can prepare ourselves, our families, our sphere of influence to be ready for the Lord’s return.
I call out: Seek out & Listen to the prophetic
Time is short. Jesus is coming sooner than He was coming yesterday. The signs are evident… He’s coming soon… (Matthew 24)
Let’s take nothing for granted, but look at the signs and be ready for whatever GOD is doing and will do in the coming days, weeks and months.
Here is a song called Revelation to remind us of what the book of Revelation says about End Times and Jesus’ return. Does this (not) apply to “now”?
