Who’s responsible for your Ministry Breakthrough?

Are you frustrated with a lack of breakthrough in your ministry or calling?

The LORD is most probably unconcerned!

“Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 6:1)

Do not fear if your efforts to gain a high profile have failed. Whatever the LORD wants of you, He will ensure it happens. Some of us, I firmly believe, may never be recognised by other people. Even some in ministry, who seek earnestly to fulfil the Call of Yehovah, creator and sustainer of the universe, believing their message urgently needs to be heard by those surrounding them, fail to get a broadcast; and yet, they are more likely to be seen by GOD in Heaven, than those with a ‘successful’ platform by the world’s standards.

That may seem unfair, on both sides:

  1. Some will have spent their lives in world wide ministry, sacrificing every moment, to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth. Will they not have their intimacy with the Father for eternity?
  2. Some will have tried to do the above and failed miserably to find their audience. Must they die in frustration?

The Father has sovereignty over all things. Why wouldn’t he allow all of us to find our audience and preach to all who will listen?

Answer:

Some need the pruning that a life of surrender brings, more than the breakthrough.

For others, though they will have had their breakthrough on earth, they may not now – nor ever will be – close to Him.

Of course there are those who have success in the world and will reign close to the Father forever too. I think those must be amazing people; what marvellous individuals they must be…. to require little pruning and maintain all modesty, humility, faithfulness and grace.

To the rest of us, and I include myself in the group that requires on-going pruning, I am not sure we’ll see our breakthrough this side of eternity. But let us not worry. Our reward on earth is continued faithfulness (for Faith is a gift from GOD), the assurance of our salvation, receipt of His ongoing forgiveness, and the knowledge of His grace.
