We may not have much more time in the UK so while we still can easily and freely, we need to stand up for the Gospel.
Laws are changing
Laws and law enforcement is rapidly changing.
We see the police suspicious of and escorting those who seek to defend the UK’s history and culture. We see arrests to those praying silently in Jesus’ name. We see those who oppose the Koran being publicly disgraced or feeling forced into hiding, fearing their own safety. We see right being seen as wrong and wrong being defended. The world has been turned upside down and those who stand for righteousness have been sidelined or threatened into silence.
I do not advocate violence, but I have told my MP if the Islamaphobia law is passed, I may end up in prison because I cannot witness Jesus under that law yet nor am I willing to be silenced.
Time is short
Headlines suggest we are moving toward riots and violence and the squashing of the voice that defends this nation’s culture and way of life.
We must pray against violence and rioting. And we must not be passive.
Time is so short.
Matthew 24
In so many ways, this is where our society is right now.
“And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.” (Matthew 24:10) — Hasn’t it become law: not to offend another person on pain of arrest?
And Acts 4:29-31
“Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.”
Pinching this from my pastor’s sermon this week, we must expect and pray for the ability to work in signs and wonders. And we must speak the Gospel. And we must defend our faith and the practice of it in any legal and peaceful way possible, until such time as it becomes illegal.
And then I intend to continue to speak the Gospel, irrespective of consequence.
Romans 1:16
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”
And Acts 5:27-29
“And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them, saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man’s blood on us!” But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.”
A recent pride march
Recently, I happened to be in a city not of my own. And there happened to be a pride march. So, I simply retraced the steps of the marchers, cancelling every spiritual entity that may have been stirred by the march. I took literally what Joshua spoke of, applying the principle,
“Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.” (Joshua 1:3)
I think it is time to stand. I intend to do so.
