My faith has gone up a notch or five!
I’ve had an epiphany.
This morning as I was reading Psalm 28, I suddenly had a deeper awareness of our authority in prayer. It was a suddenly, a deep, deep, excited awareness that has shifted my understanding of what Jesus has given us.
By faith we can move mountains. By faith we can calm storms. By faith we can heal the sick — and we can walk in health by faith and the authority Jesus has given us.
“Greater things than these will you do…”
Jesus has given us all authority to push back
There was not something specific in Psalm 28 that moved me. Rather it was being in His Word, which equals Jesus Himself, and allowing His Word to penetrate my thinking very deeply. Suddenly, I have become aware of the authority on a deeper level. And I’m writing this, not only to share and encourage you, but also to hold onto it myself.
We need to hold on to what we believe. We are called to push back and we have the authority to do it.
Perhaps our minds need a bit more renewing. (Romans 12:2)
Basis of this revelation
The Father, Son and Spirit created the earth and everything in it. And it was good. (Genesis 1)
He created man and woman. They lived in a garden. He gave them one parameter which they broke (the Fall: Genesis 3) and the world eventually turned so barbaric, so far from His intention, that the LORD flooded the earth to destroy all but one family who were not barbaric, Noah’s family. (Genesis 8)
Barbarism grew yet again. To curb against it, the LORD blessed one man, Abram, and chose his descendants through Isaac and Jacob (Israel) as a special people group (Hebrews) to become a nation that would be for His name’s sake. (Genesis 12, 15, 17)
The world, including the Hebrews: Israel, turn to barbarism and decay. (Judges)
But GOD
Then, in the fullness of His timing, the LORD sends His son, Yeshua — Jesus, to take upon Himself all the barbarism and decay, and offers an exchange. (Gospels)
Jesus teaches righteousness and how to push back from decay. He commissioned His followers and He commissions all of us, to push back (Matthew 28) and He gives us the power to do so. (Luke 24)
We are called
How am I pushing back? Where am I falling short in faith? I repent. I receive His forgiveness, and I move forward — to push back, because
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)
I can do… I have been given the authority. Now I’ve been given greater insight and therefore, greater faith. One day, I will move a mountain.
And so will you, if you have the faith. You already have the authority if you are one of His.
Be still and know that I Am GOD
If you haven’t captured what I’m saying yet, if it hasn’t moved you, then sit with the LORD. You can do all things, by faith. So, let us all grow in our faith to do that which the Lord has given us the authority to do.
And remember, GOD is the God of the impossible!
Hallelujah & Amen
