New starts need new strategies
September is a fresh start for many. It is the beginning of the Hebrew year. It is the start of the school year for those in the Northern Hemisphere. It is a time of the changing season. And for me, it reminds me to ask again of the LORD: ‘Let there be more of You, less of me, LORD.’
How do we manage to accomplish ‘more of Him, less of me’?
It is through an act of surrender, a wilful act of giving up of our will to Holy Spirit….
Who is Holy Spirit?
Holy Spirit, Helper
GOD does not leave us alone, to strive and to struggle. But He provides His Holy Spirit, residing in us, the lead, help, encourage, guide, show us His way…
“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever” “(John 14:16)
Holy Spirit, Source of Wisdom
When the early church was learning how to minister to one another, there were cultural divides, intentional or unintentional. But a strategy to repair issues was given to them, to “seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business” of distribution of food. (Acts 6:3)
When we know not which way to go, we ask, and the Lord, through His Holy Spirit, will teach us, lead us, direct our path. We simply need to ask.
Holy Spirit: Convicts
Within us dwells the Spirit of the living GOD. He reminds us when we are walking, the steps we are to take and in the manner we are to take them. When we misstep, He leads, guides us to repentance, that we can get back on track…
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” (John 14:26)
Moving forward
In this new season, I am seeking to walk in GOD’s steps 24/7. How can I do that? I aim though I may fail. And when I am at a loss, when I am in my own flesh: anxiety, wilfulness, emotion, distraction, I simply ask: ‘more of you, less of me’, Lord Jesus.
I ask for the power and presence of GOD -> for more Holy Spirit infilling me, walking with me. Me abiding in Him, surrendered to Him, trusting in Him, I love forward in His love, His grace, His truth. Hallelujah & Amen.
