Preparing the Bride for GOD’s Story
How do we prepare as the Bride of Christ? One aspect is to learn GOD’S STORY. He created us in His image…. Piece by piece, and peace by peace, we learn to walk as He has walked. And we learn His perspective.
Genesis 13:1-2 “Then Abram went up from Egypt, he and his wife and all that he had, and Lot with him, to the South. Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.”
Provision
It’s August, and to be perfectly honest, it’s holiday season in my culture. I want to honour GOD by continuing faithfully to post. I’m going to honour you by writing, but I’m going to honour myself by being very brief so I can spend a good part of my week resting…
GOD is a God of provision. Inlaid in this one bit of Genesis, we see GOD the provider at work. Abram had much wealth. He went to Egypt with it, and he left with it. GOD protected him, his wife, and his wealth.
Abram was a bit crafty, which we looked at in last week’s post. We might see this as lacking in character. But nevertheless, GOD did not punish him for it. Rather, he honoured Abram in enabling him to keep his possessions.
What we’ll look at next time is how provision propelled division between Abram and Lot.

Father GOD, I thank you for your provision and I ask that we each recognise your goodness to us and trust ourselves more and more to you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
