Aging
“You’re not getting older, you’re getting better.”
So went the L’Oréal Advert in the 1970’s.
We mothers may tire more easily as time passes. We may be getting grey hair or stiff joints by the time our kids hit their teens. We may be putting on a bit of weight.
But do you want to know what is really, really good about aging?
Wisdom
The greatest benefit to age is experience: With experience, comes wisdom.
One thing we definitely and unavoidably gain over time, is experience.
Never underestimate the value of experience
When our children fall down, we don’t panic. Instead, we encourage them to stand again. When our children take a tumble, we don’t fear, we simply encourage them to try again.
And so, when we make a mistake, we mustn’t give up. Rather, let’s tell ourselves — and one another, let’s chalk it up to experience, and try again.
And always, let’s be ready to apologise. To own up and say sorry keeps our relationships open, honest, and full of revitalisation. Everyone makes mistakes, and learning from them builds our experience… And our wisdom.
Aging isn’t fun. Again is tough on our ego. But remember, it’s a key to wisdom. And wisdom is a fantastic quality that helps us and our families to keep growing in a positive direction.

What a beautiful post, so full of wisdom – and from a wonderful Mother! A husband and a wife complement each other and each has their role; God designed the man to be the Head of the family, but as a man myself I’m humble enough to admit that it’s the wife who is blessed with the higher level of wisdom. Thank you, Sarah and God bless you. Sincerely, David
Wow! That’s a beautiful complement to all women, David.
Thank you for your humble character, your steadfast friendship and your kind encouragement.
Every blessing to you and your family.
