It’s September! The start of the academic year and the time of fresh starts.
May every child feel encouraged. May every teacher feel inspired. And may every parent feel hopeful for their children.
Sometimes children have been bullied. Or they’ve underperformed in the past.
Some children will have excelled and been the centre of attention for a particular skill, a talent or perhaps for their personal exuberance.
Whether for good or ill, may the past be in the past and the new come upon us all, to offer us a fresh start for the academic year. May we not “rest on our laurels” for past achievements. May we not “hide in the shadows” for past shames…. But may we all rejoice at the opportunity fresh starts bring!
