Word of Warning: Join a church body

GO TO A CHURCH and STICK WITH IT!

Here is a word of warning —join a church body today!

This is not a word borne out of a desire to preach religion. But….

The LORD has given me a stern warning to share with others: ‘Go to a church; be part of a fellowship; stop complaining and stick with it.’

We are meant to be part of a church. We are one body. An eye cannot be a foot and a foot cannot be a heart… (1 Corinthians 12)

I was driving home last evening (at the time of drafting this) after being at a singing rehearsal at church.

Out of the blue, or was it because the group had been talking about worship, I had a clear word which I believe is from the LORD to me, to friends, to all:

The message is simple and clear: Brothers and sisters in Christ, go to a church fellowship! Does it need to be a building? No, of course not! We, the body of believers, are the church. Can it be in a church building? Of course it can. Or it doesn’t have to be. Simply, if you are following Jesus, you need to be part of a church.

Pick a church and attend. And keep going, even in adversity. Church is family. Church is GOD’s bride. If we want Him to take us seriously, we must take our family seriously. Whoever is our family is His family. We need to be attending, be part of fellowship, part of His body. If not? He didn’t say. But I sensed the great strength of His intent:

BE part of church fellowship. Stick with one. Stay there and allow GOD to move in and through you for others and in and through others for you. 

STOP complaining. I like that old adage, “If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.”

This all goes back to a few months ago…. 

I prayed about a month ago, “LORD, if there are people in this church who aren’t meant to be here, have them leave. And if there are people who are meant to stay, have them stay.

THEN, He began to shake things up. Gossip that had been carrying on increased until a hostile group left. And because some left, others left. 

I didn’t know this was going to happen, but at about the same time, I got fed up about something and as a firm believer in not complaining, I thought I might just leave. I’m glad I didn’t because I was “fed up” the same week loads of others were exasperated and exited. That can’t be coincidence, can it?

So, tonight as I was driving home from a rehearsal that raised the issue of several households leaving our congregation, I thought of a friend who loves the LORD but has been out of regular church fellowship for a few years, and this word sprang out of me: “Choose where your church is and stick with it!”

So the overriding message is: attend church to be part of GOD’s family. 

Why? 

Not because it’s a religious exercise. Not even because it’s good for us or the right thing to do. Go, because GOD asks us. That needs to be a good enough reason.

Praying for your Spouse

Psalm 88

1 O Lord, God of my salvation,

I have cried out day and night before You.

2 Let my prayer come before You;

Incline Your ear to my cry.

3 For my soul is full of troubles,

And my life draws near to the grave.

4 I am counted with those who go down to the pit;

I am like a man who has no strength,

5 Adrift among the dead,

Like the slain who lie in the grave,

Whom You remember no more,

And who are cut off from Your hand.

6 You have laid me in the lowest pit,

In darkness, in the depths.

7 Your wrath lies heavy upon me,

And You have afflicted me with all Your waves. Selah

8 You have put away my acquaintances far from me;

You have made me an abomination to them;

I am shut up, and I cannot get out;

9 My eye wastes away because of affliction.

Lord, I have called daily upon You;

I have stretched out my hands to You.

10 Will You work wonders for the dead?

Shall the dead arise and praise You? Selah

11 Shall Your lovingkindness be declared in the grave?

Or Your faithfulness in the place of destruction?

12 Shall Your wonders be known in the dark?

And Your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?

13 But to You I have cried out, O Lord,

And in the morning my prayer comes before You.

14 Lord, why do You cast off my soul?

Why do You hide Your face from me?

15 I have been afflicted and ready to die from my youth;

I suffer Your terrors;

I am distraught.

16 Your fierce wrath has gone over me;

Your terrors have cut me off.

17 They came around me all day long like water;

They engulfed me altogether.

18 Loved one and friend You have put far from me,

And my acquaintances into darkness.

A wife’s prayer for her husband (or husband’s for a wife)

This morning as I continued my way through Psalms, I reached Psalm 88 and was struck at how apt it is to my personal storm (see Hold On).

My husband is in hospital at the moment. And this psalm as a prayer seemed apt for us both. Some lines echo for myself, others on his behalf.

Verses 1, 2 are my voice, telling GOD how I have felt through this time.

Verses 3 – 5 are a reflection of my husband’s position in hospital, vulnerable and very sick.

Verses 6-9a expands upon hubby’s position. He is unconscious – even his eyes cannot see.

Verses 9b – 13 echoes my cry to the LORD to be heard, for the situation to change, for GOD to act.

Verses 14-18 describe the faithfulness of my husband (15) but the consequences of GOD’s seeming silence.

After reading the Psalm in silence, and recognising the parallel to our lives at the moment, I read it again out loud. 

Then the LORD gave me the word: REVIVE. And that is the call and prayer for today: that my husband will revive now. 

“Now” does not mean immediately, although it can mean immediately. Now means it shall begin. Time is GOD’s by creation and mechanism. Yesterday, tomorrow and today are not restrictions for GOD. He manages all matters from His framework.

I know the LORD has heard me. Even the doctors testify of the repair in progress. I have given the time to the Father Yehovah GOD, and the time is in His hands.

Why I say this to you

I am not writing this to you for prayer support, although if the LORD prompts you to pray, that is wonderful. I am not writing this as a means of cathartic expression. I am writing this to you, who are married, so that you too might be led to apply a psalm to your situation. It may be Psalm 88 or another.

I am not restricting this to married people, for all of us have prayers for our loved ones. 

But I am also saying something specific about the prayers of married people. The two become one flesh is hugely significant; to overlook it is a lost miracle. For GOD has given us a way to pray for our spouses that, until recently, I overlooked. We can pray as one flesh: we can pray and take on the afflictions of our spouse in a supernatural way, if we have the GOD-given faith for it and the revelation. We do not become sick but we gain insight into the illness and ultimately, we can command it to go, In Jesus’ most wonderful name.

Blessings all as you meditate on Psalms and prayerfully consider this word I’ve shared.

Where is the Supernatural today?

What if in Biblical times the barrier between the natural and supernatural realms was not as dense as since?

What if our scientific development and mental faculties have in some measure made leaping from one realm to another far less feasible, not because there is any physical or temporal change but rather a change in our sphere of thinking? 

Have we narrowed our ability to see beyond the physical simply because our sensory development has been stifled by our limitations put upon us by our understanding and development of academic science?

I’m all for science. GOD created it! The Bible is full of science. But today we are very limited in our sensory and spiritual awareness in the West. We need to re-engage with the miraculous and the supernatural.

How did Jesus turn water into wine? Or multiply bread and fish? How did he heal a man blind from birth so that he could see, or raise a paralytic from his bed? And how did he raise Lazarus simply by calling his name?

If you believe the Bible then you have to believe these things occurred. If you believe the Bible then you have to agree that Jesus said, “greater works than these [you] will do.” (John 14:12)

We are not operating in the supernatural and miraculous, not many of us, not as a matter of course. We cannot will ourselves into believing, multiplying and healing. But these things do happen. So how?

Let’s pray

Father Yehovah GOD, Creator of the Universe, we want mountain moving faith. We want to live in Your presence and fear not. We ask You to teach us and direct us, so that we might do “greater works” than the Lord Jesus that he spoke of, for Your glory, Your majesty, Your righteousness and Your will to be done on earth as in heaven. Teach us, grow us, help us to receive, so that Your glory and power will be a witness to Your truth, goodness, righteousness, mercy and judgment. In Jesus’ name, 

Amen.

We are looking in the Wrong Direction: End Times

We are looking Up to Him; rather we need to look as Down from Him

GOD is waiting for us to be in His presence (see post “Who is Luke Warm?”), to take in His message, and to walk in His ways.

GOD is waiting for us. Are we waiting on Him? Are we mindful of Him… or are we paying more attention to signs?

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33) When Jesus said this, he was referring to provision, but the preface is the same: do not worry about the future.

In my own reflective time, I have come to realise:

We are looking from the wrong direction. We need to take GOD’s perspective from above and we will see: we are IN the tribulation.… Personally, I reckon we may as well stop looking for signs. 

We must not try to fit the times into our theological perspective of End Times. Many of us have a viewpoint, but it is not Gospel and it is unconfirmed. Whether we are going to be raptured as the church before the Tribulation, or whether Jesus is going to come for his bride before or after Satan is bound, how do we know? When asked, Jesus himself said, “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” (Matthew 24:36)

And if we must look, let us see: 

Today, those who are persecuted are 80% Christian. In 2015, the beheadings in Libya were persecution just as it speaks of the beheaded martyrs in Revelation 21. Eschatology is interesting but we are waiting for events to fit into our boxes rather than having eyes open to what is happening? We are living IN the End Times, Now. Well, it sure looks like it.

End Times: So, what will we do about it?

Irrespective of when we are in the timeline of GOD, we are to prepare as His bride.

“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.” (Matthew 10:1)

The most prepared Biblical bride was Esther. Esther oiled, pampered, waited for a year. She waited and then, of all the women, she was chosen.

“Each young woman’s turn came to go in to King Ahasuerus after she had completed twelve months’ preparation, according to the regulations for the women, for thus were the days of their preparation apportioned: six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with perfumes and preparations for beautifying women.” (Esther 2:12)

What does oil symbolise?

“The oil of gladness…” (Hebrews 1:9) comes from GOD. Oil is mentioned in virtually every book of the Bible. We need the oil of joy: the oil of the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Let us wait on Yehovah, and fill our lamps with the oil of the presence of the Holy Spirit. Let us fill our hearts and minds with the Word of GOD and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. This is our duty and our calling. 

Yehovah be praised! And may we all live in His shalom as we wait on Him and for Him.

Halloween: light in the darkness

Light in the Darkness

How can we who love the LORD experience October 31st in a way that is spiritually safe and life-giving?

For innocent children, this is the night for dress-up. But the root of this evening originated hundreds of years ago, spooking the spooks by dressing up just like them, in order to trick them from attacking. The Church historically attempted to take this date and make it something more God-centred (much the way it took the pagan date of 25th December and marked it as the celebration of Jesus’ birth centuries before that), marking it as All Saints: http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/christianity/holydays/halloween_1.shtml

Whilst today we can barely ignore the day as children certainly want their sweets, balancing their desires with healthy spiritual encouragement is possible. Churches create events for children as alternatives to trick-or-treat. Parents give their children treats and share the gospel and love of Jesus. The Holy Spirit is superior to any darkness and can be introduced to our children as our comforter. Impersonating dark creatures or even imaginary characters is not necessary to combat evil and in fact walks closely to inviting the “baddies” into our lives. Instead, we can play, pretend, enjoy our imaginations, celebrating the goodness and purity of GOD.

As parents and relatives, loving our children is the core of our ministry. How we best teach them is to navigate the world ourselves, and bring to them the light of Jesus in the darkness; this will prepare them to face the world when they become teens and adults, without fear or shame. 

All of us are meant to be in the world but not of it. Prayer not fear or superstition is our starting point. 

Personally, I pray protection over all children, plead the blood of Jesus over our own, and ask that the world will recognise evil as unattractive, deceptive and horribly dangerous, In Jesus’ name. Amen. Will you join me?

In the Wake of the Pittsburg Shooting Tragedy

Aliyah. Yehovah’s children must go to the homeland of Israel before Jesus – Yeshua, Messiah, will come (again). (Ezekiel 36:24-28)

And so we must pray for Aliyah.

Last week, Pittsburg witnessed the killing of eleven innocent Jews while at a Saturday service at their local Synogogue.

Somewhere I read recently that this tragic shooting in America, the safest haven for Jews in modern history, is a wake up call to them, to leave their comfort zone and get to the safety of the Father’s homeland for His people: Israel. I was glad to read it, because it confirmed what I felt in my spirit.

Oh, let nothing of the past persecution of Jews come again.

But if the Father is calling them to return to Israel, what might have to occur to draw them to leave comfort and move to a homeland of their ancestors?

And what can we do to assist their return ‘home’?

Shall we not ask the Father, and pray for the people, and wait?

“He who waits for the LORD will renew his strength.

He will mount up as an eagle. He will run and not be weary.

He will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

And so we pray there will be no faint-heartedness amongst the Jews. And nor for us who are called to pray, without ceasing. Those who are called to help, and those who are called to make the journey…. we pray.

A Cry for Aliyah

Aliyah

The Father, Creator of the Universe, is calling all of Jewish heritage, back to the homeland of Israel: Return and Rest.

“For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statues, and you will keep My judgments and do them. Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God.” Ezekiel 36:24-28

Allow the fresh rain to fall on your faces. Allow the Spirit of the Father to cleanse your souls. Allow Him to lead you into your Promised Land, forever.

He is calling. The Master, the Elohim, G-D, Yehovah. His call is to those whom He loves most dearly: the house of Israel, the Hebrew nation, the Jews.

It is time to go home, to your true homeland. Your Messiah is coming (again) and it is your time to know Him.

“Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30)

These are words of Yeshua, the one whom Gentiles call Jesus, and he is the Messiah you have been waiting for, and he is coming… again.

It’s Time

It’s Time

Aliya 

This morning I had a strong burden of prayer from the LORD.

It is TIME for Israel to return: It is time for the Jewish people to return to Him and to return to their Homeland of Israel.

I feel led to speak in particular about the Jewish people in New York.

It is time. The LORD is calling them. It is time to “come back”.

We sound the Shofar. Let us pray, on behalf of Jewish people scattered, on behalf of rich and poor Jewish descendants, to return home… beyond what may seem reasonable, may they return home. It is time.

Sound the Shofar for protection, leadership, inspiration, healing. Move out! It’s time.

Who Jesus Is

There is a lot of historical debate and even violence about Jesus’ identity, put into the framework of religion.

I’m going to clear up something that is not religious argument but simple fact that you can share with those who want to enter a debate which will otherwise lead nowhere.


Jesus is not Catholic.

Jesus is not Protestant either.

Jesus is Jewish.

Who is ready, who is listening?

Is Anybody Listening

I’m a Christian, that is to say, I follow Jesus and believe every word in the Bible is from God. Oh, we may choose to interpret it our own way, but His intention is to give us access to His heart and His ways. If we choose to follow, we will have abundant life in this world and in the next.

Abundance

Abundant is a term that has many interpretations. The first or most obvious may be as regards financial security.

Jesus never tried to get rich, and yet, wasn’t completely poor. He did not lack but he did not have plenty. So, what is this Abundant Life he is referring to, if not an existence with wealth and comfort?

Abundance is love, and the ripple effect that love produces.

Love. Kindness. Brotherly love. Fellowship, camaraderie, mutual respect and trustworthiness are all a part of this, I believe. An abundant life is a life full of good relationships with neighbours, family and fellow believers. No one died regretting working too little but many die with the regret they did not commit enough time or focus to their relationships.

Fellowship

And with whom are we to fellowship? Who is our brother? The Jew, and fellow believers (those who believe in and follow Yeshua/Jesus), be they Jewish or Gentile, are our closest neighbours. In fact, I’m thinking scripturally-speaking, we who believe and follow Jesus — or Yeshua — are all Messianic and to label only Jewish believers as such separates what could draw us closer together.

We who know Jesus are called to love all our neighbours; I believe I am mandated to begin by encouraging the fellowship of believers, regardless of their denomination or their cultural heritage or colour, to reach out to the Jewish people. Fellowship includes GOD’s chosen people, the Jews, and then the heirs by adoption, the gentile believers. And so, once we have reached out to the Jews, we must also stretch out our hands to all those who believe irrespective of education, background or financial means.

A Shift has come

In my life a definite shift has come as regards fellowship. I believe my first call is to the Jewish people, God’s Chosen, and next to fellow believers who seek the same. Isn’t it time we truly make the Jewish people jealous for God? (Romans 11:11)

They are called to fulfil Aliya (return to their homeland of Israel) and find a deep relationship with their God: Yehovah. And it is time for them to discover Messiah has come in Yeshua – their messiah whom we call Jesus, our saviour. (Isaiah 49:6)

Who is listening

Why me?

Why has GOD called upon my husband and I, no doubt along with a merry band of others dispersed here and there among the cast of believers (some of whom I know of and have called dear friends), to have this insight into the times? Actually, we are not so few.

Examining our Hebraic Roots is quite trendy. But this goes deeper. There are some pastors in America for example, who are leaving their denominations — or in the case of AOG are being supported as they shift — to worship corporately on Saturday rather than on Sunday, Saturday being the seventh day of the week, the day the LORD rested after the creation of the World, the day He calls the Sabbath.

But the message takes time to reach the ears and hearts of Believers.

I just don’t want folks to get left behind. In these days, there are many who are comfortable in their churches, living their somewhat holy lives, enjoying fellowship with one another and the LORD.  For me, and a lot of others, church just isn’t enough anymore. GOD wants much more than the Church of previous generations. And He’s showing us what He wants.

Test His Word

Go on… Look up End Times scriptures: Matthew 24, Daniel 12, Ezekiel 38, Revelation 8-9 and onwards. Read. Devour what the LORD has told us will come to pass. We are in the midst of calamity and change. Study to show yourself approved (2 Timothy 2:15) and discover what you’re meant to be doing… now. Prepare the way for others to know our GOD. The God of the Universe, the Father of Creation, the Prince of Peace and the Wonderful Councillor. (Isaiah 9:6)

GOD isn’t doing church the way He used to. So many who love Him have long departed Sunday worship and are at home, keeping in touch with GOD but not with fellow believers. Why do you think that is? It’s simple: that is not where GOD wants us to be. He wants us grafted into His structure, His will, His way. The time for the Gentiles has finished and it’s time to draw His people back to Himself, and for them to acknowledge their Messiah has come.

Why now?

It’s been a long time coming, and in fact, it’s been here for a good while. Church doesn’t cut it for many and in fact, generations have been in large part lost to the Gospel message as shared through the established Church. Jesus — Yeshua came in the flesh to do two things:

  1. To restore the Hebrews back to their God and
  2. To offer salvation to the world.

He came for the Gentiles to provoke the Jews to jealousy. Now it is time to draw them in to the Truth.

The church has compromised itself all in the name of relevance. The message has been watered down in many cases, and downright distorted in others. The passing of many men of GOD, the latest being Billy Graham, has marked the shift too. It is time to follow where our Father is leading… back to our Jewish roots (torn from the early church only a few centuries after its birth).

History*

The people of the Way, who followed the Rabbi Yeshua, were a Jewish sect. Called Christians by those who did not believe, the name stuck and eventually they were kicked out of Synagogue and later kicked back by turning their backs on the Judaic roots and capitalising on pagan festivals, rather than GOD’s feasts.

It’s time we go back to the true history of Genesis and Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. It’s time we engage with Jewish people, Messianic Jews and the Father in the Way He created for us. Not by might nor power, not by obligation nor a heavy yoke, but by His Spirit. (Zechariah 4:6)

Challenge

Will you take on the challenge? Will you put on the Will of the Father and seek only His Kingdom? When you do, you’ll discover deeper truth and deeper relationship with Jesus, and a deeper connection to who you are in Him.

True freedom is not a heavy yoke but it isn’t doing whatever you want either

It is not by might nor by power but by the Spirit. So let’s not study and then put on our own effort in this. But rather, let’s surrender to discover not only the freedom we have in Christ, but also the joy of the LORD in being all He has created us to be.

The End of Christian Tradition is not to be feared

The End of Christian Tradition as we know it

There are many signs which indicate to me that the end of Christianity as we have practised it has come.

While the atheists would like to see the end of it because it is antagonistic to their beliefs, this is not the reason it is dissipating.

While the Muslim extremists would like to see the end because they do not want any theocracy but theirs, that is not the reason it is finishing.

While the pagans and other belief systems are disdainful or lukewarm tolerant to contemporary Christianity, this is not the reason for its end.

The reason Christian tradition is on the decline is because Father God would have it so. The foundation, Jesus, is sound. However the early Church lost its way with Constantin and pagan festivals replacing God’s feasts. Christianity needs to get back to its roots; it has strayed very far from the tree. It needs again to become recognisable to the Jewish people.

The time of the Gentiles is finished; the time for God’s Chosen, the Jewish people has come. It is time for them to recognise and acknowledge their LORD, and prepare: their Messiah has come.

We of the Christian tradition must let go of those traditions so that we can embrace the traditions GOD instituted for us. He wants His people jealous (Romans 11:11) and so we must take what GOD has given us, practice it and allow the Jews to see.

We must let go of our festivals. We must let go of our traditions. We must let go and allow GOD to re-educate us and reform us. The root: Sunday worship, Communion, Christmas, Easter and the like, must go, to be replaced with GOD’s ordained day of rest, His sabbath, His passover, His several feasts. We don’t pick up the LAW but we embrace GOD’s gifts to us.

Christianity is not the festivals, it is Jesus. Christianity is not our denomination, it is Jesus. Following Jesus is not a tradition, it is salvation and glory to GOD. So, when can we begin to do it His way?

“I will build my church,” said Jesus. “And the gates of hell will not prevail against it.”

(Matthew 16:18)

Let us let go of the constructs of men and allow ourselves to follow our Saviour, Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). He did not destroy the law but fulfilled it (Matthew 5:17). He came to set us free from sin and death (Romans 6:18). But he did not release us from the festivals ordained by GOD.

It is time. We who love our Father in Heaven are being called. He has bought us, paid the price, forgiven us and loved us. How can be not hear and follow?

The Sound of the Shofar

The sound of the Shofar tells the enemy we are coming, fearlessly.

The sound of the Shofar brings peace, and gives us strength to face the foe.

We sound the Shofar now, to usher in a new season: sharing a deeper understanding of scripture to prepare the Bride for Jesus’ return.

Here it is: The Shofar

The shofar is the ram’s horn, reminiscent of the ram caught in the brush as Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac. The ram became the substitute offering when God stopped Abraham’s hand.

The Shofar is sounded on the evening of Shabbat: Friday evening.

On the passing of Billy Graham

A humble man acknowleged

Tributes to a wonderful and Godly man have rung out since the moment his death was announced on the 21st of February 2018. Whether religious or not, folks who knew the name or the man personally held him in high esteem. But that would not have mattered to Mr Graham. The single-most important thing to him was the name of Jesus being upheld and people coming to recognise faith in him was their saving grace.

A person with a purpose and the integrity to uphold that purpose shines in the community of mankind.

The passing of Evangelists

There have been many Evangelists in recent years who have passed into he glory of the LORD. David Wilkerson, Derek Prince, Oral Roberts and now Billy Graham are four.

Several years ago, I heard a prophecy from someone… I cannot remember whom… and the prophecy was this: I (Jesus) will not return until after the passing of four great men of GOD.  No names were given. Though I’ve not got a terrific memory, even for prophetic words (hence I write most of them down), I remembered that one. When David Wilkerson died the Word of GOD came back to me and I knew in my heart he was one of those four great evangelists. And I knew something else, the word would not be fulfilled until Billy Graham died. I just knew he was one of the four.

Time is short

Billy Graham has died. I conclude the time which is short has just become much shorter.

This morning I was praying and the Father laid on my heart Obadiah. So I read it. The following passage struck me hard:

“For the day of the LORD upon all the nations is near;

As you have done, it shall be done to you:

Your reprisal shall return upon your own head.” (vs 15)

When you read Obadiah, it is clear that the LORD is raising up Israel once again and those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who have already cursed Israel will be cursed.

Israel in these End Times

Oh, that my nation and others might be a blessing to Israel. But I sigh, and believe few have been. And what of individuals and churches and denominations? The same will be true.

Many of the readers of this post will be supporters of the nation and the people of Israel. Praise God for you! And how far we must all go to support the nation and the people and God’s Holy ways.

Sabbath Rest Ministries

I am embarking on a joint ministry with my husband, Alan Tun. The ministry is called “Sabbath Rest Ministries”. It is named primarily to draw attention to the value and importance to GOD of His Sabbath and the rest the Sabbath brings. Hebrews Chapters 3, 4  will shed further light. Suffice to say, we want to also draw to folks’ attention the principle of One New Man as mentioned in Ephesians 2. Jew and Gentile Believers — Messianic Jews and Messianic Gentiles if you will allow me to say — need to come together before Jesus will return.

We all need to be awake for these last days. We don’t know the timing, but Jesus’ return in imminent. Signs of Daniel and Matthew 24 demonstrate this. Revelations is full of the secrets and mysteries of the last days. The Church Age as we have known it for centuries is closing (some say it has already finished) and those who love the LORD need to prepare for Spiritual Warfare, need to love one another, and must value the Jewish people and their nation. For some of us, one most difficult thing will be to grapple with Jesus’ fulfilment — not replacement — of the Law of GOD as comprised in the first five books of the Bible. I fear many are lost who believe they are “found” because they are not rooted in the complete Word of GOD.

God’s Call

Billy Graham was a blessing to many thousands and millions who came to Jesus through his preaching. He said of himself, he wished he’d done more discipleship, though I feel he was called as Paul,

“For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.” (1 Corinthians 1:17).

It is up to us to fulfil our calling and be about the LORD’s business. Will we be prepared for however the LORD chooses to lead, to teach and to use us? Will we be open to revelation of His Word and see in it new things that are true though unexpected, such as following the Sabbath has He intends?

How to be Natural about the Supernatural

To Jesus, the supernatural was as natural as breathing and eating.

Like him, we need to expect the supernatural and not be afraid of it. I’m preaching to myself really.

Perspective

The maker of the universe is our Father, and He gives generously to those who ask.

Matthew 7:11 states, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”

He is supernatural. By His Spirit, He lives within those who believe and surrender. Therefore…

We can expect and believe for the supernatural in our lives. Whether it is healing, finance or relational, GOD does work in all those who allow, and often even through those who do not believe.

Engaging

So, how we shall we engage with God on a deeper level? With regard to the supernatural, shall we walk, expectant of miracles and uncanny surprises?

Whether Jesus calmed the storm (Mark 4) or walked on water (Matthew 14), filled water jars with wine (John 2) or raised a dead child (Luke 8), there is no remark about his hesitation or lack of belief.

So let us be like him: Fully surrendered, ever-prayerful, absorbed by the Father.

Waiting

Jesus said he only did those things the Father called him to do,

“I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of theFather who sent Me.” (John 5:30)

So, let us wait on the LORD GOD, ask and wait, to see His deliverance and the miraculous. Let us wait upon the LORD, and see what He will do.

Expecting

We live in an era of fast-everything: fast food, quick fixes, easy communication. But the Father will not be rushed. His timing is perfect, and so waiting does mean waiting, often for a long time. Abraham was 99 when his promised son was born. Moses was 40 years a shepherd before God called him to return to Egypt and rescue the Hebrew people from slavery.

God answers prayers. We can trust He will use us as He has promised. In the meantime, we will expect, wait, engage, and grow in wisdom and patience as we seek His perspective.

Finally

If we walk as though we are tall, we will grow in stature. If we talk with confidence, we will be believed. Within us, the GOD of the universe has equipped us with His Spirit. Let us walk, knowing He resides in us, so we are ready to follow direction as it is given.

Then, in His perfect time, we will see the supernatural increase in our lives.

Natural Signs and Fulfilment of Scripture

We seem to be waiting for Jesus’ return, and even the weather and the stars are saying the time is soon.

We’ve had Hurricane Harvey, then Irma, then Maria, all occurring in the Gulf of Mexico and in surrounding regions, all with severe and even devastating consequences. The storms continue, around the Gulf, and around the Globe.

We’ve had Jupiter hiding inside Virgo for 9 months and late last month, Jupiter was expelled or “born”.

Now, this is one take from a spiritual perspective, which I certainly endorse, though Jesus has not yet appeared…


Revelation 12;1-4 says,

“Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.

And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born.”

Is it not possible that Virgo, the one female astrological sign, is representative of the woman who has given birth? And if so, he who has been born (represented as Jupiter) is the Church, who will now rule with an Iron Rod of Righteousness over the calamity, decadence, and madness that has been on the rise over recent decades. Is it not possible that Donald Trump, in his unpopular but unstinting resolve to support Israel, to counter abortion, and encourage international sovereignty of nation-states, is an international authority who rules counter to societal trends (which are anti-God).

There have been other signs in the skies. We had the blood moons, beginning a few years ago. Matthew 24:29-30 says,

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”

Interestingly, the most recent lunar eclipse which spanned America, ended at the starting point of Hurricane Harvey, just days before the Hurricane ripped through the landscape.

We have the fiery red dragon, a kingdom beast, as mentioned in Revelation 12. Could he not be the Islamic kingdoms, with its 7 heads and 10 horns?

But if all these connections between Biblical prophecy and natural events are connected, then where is Jesus? How well has the One New Man = collective of Jew and Gentile coming together been manifested? And where are the resurrection bodies?

Some predicted that the dead in Christ would rise on the 21st/22nd September and Jesus would appear on the 23rd. The month of September has passed.

While it is true that there have been uncanny connections between natural events and scripture over recent months and days, it is also true that Jesus is not here. Why not?

Have we failed again to prepare ourselves as his bride? Have we failed to unite as one body the keepers of the Law (Jew) and the keepers of Grace (Gentile Church), coming together faithfully as One New Man (Matthew 24:35)?

It was predicted that at the beginning of the month of Elul (September) there would be signs: damage to the kingdoms of the East and great storms. Kim Jung Un is under threat of sanction and annihilation; ISIS is losing its grip. And the people in the region of the Gulf of Mexico have experienced great storms.

Jesus, where are you?

Last night it was in the news that the skies of England have turned orange. Is this another timely sign — or warning — from the God of the Universe?

As October passes, I have been told my website will no longer have a host. This may be my final Soaring Post. Or I may, in due season, find another provider that is suitable. Perhaps Feast of Tabernacles, 23rd October, will bring Jesus and my posts will no longer be of service.

We must be prepared for whatever will come, not holding on to the past but prepared for the future, with hope and resolve.


Storms come and pass. We battle on. Love wins.

Another Storm Coming: Taking it in stride

I awoke this morning from a dream. The dream was a rendering of the chaotic. The message received, “there is a storm coming”.

The last time I had a dream like that, we had a family row that day following the dream.

Today I descended from my bedroom, looked at my emails to discover, my web host server company is closing down its service.

Storm? I’m prepared, or at least I have an attitude of preparedness. “God is in charge,” I wrote to the host of the website, “and we will seek and discover what God has in store for us all.”

So, change is coming. I don’t know the form it will take. Perhaps I’ll be posting at Soaring Post for the last time. Or perhaps I’ll find another way within the next two weeks to write a newsletter and get it out to you.

The storm as I see it, is not weather-related (although tell that to folks in Houston, The Gulf of Mexico, and most recently, Ireland), not even finance-related, but attitudinal.

If I have the attitude of hope and trust in the LORD’s sovereignty, I rest assured, what will come will be for the best.

If I have the attitude of self-determination, I may panic or hurry or fear.

If I have the attitude that I must follow God’s lead and know that step-by-step, He will reveal His strategy, I will be in the eye of the storm, not bearing the brunt of it.

So, I may cease to be an entity at http://laruspress.com or perhaps I can switch things quickly, carry over at an effective cost, and continue on.

Either way, I am open to work hard, pray hard and to follow. Either way, I simply want to be in my Father’s will.

When storms come, we must fight to overcome. But we must also surrender to the Master who allows the storm and trust He has a purpose for us in it.

Jesus calmed the storm,

“On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!” (Mark 4:35-41)

When he calmed the storm, he revealed God’s authority over the storm. We who have Jesus can do the same, whether it is a physical storm or a situational one.

But Jesus only did the will of his Father,

Then Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things.” (John 8:28)

When we surrender our will to the Father’s, and trust in His authority, we can, like Jesus, perform His will. And we have perfect peace.

So I officially am now surrendering the fate of my website and this newsletter to Him. I am announcing to Him (as if He didn’t already know) that the service provider for my website is having to shut down… which will be a heartache to the provider…

And so I pray that all those who are hosted by him, will have peace and will find God’s way forward. And I ask that God continues to watch over the work of all parties involved and that we will better serve Jesus through this storm.

Power in the Sky: a reflection and an alert

Driving from Madrid around Midnight on a Sunday evening, the sky flashes silently, revealing the Father’s awesome power….

Flooding

Irma has been in full force over the last several days. Floods in Texas never before experienced wreaked havoc only days ago:

“Biblical proportions” the news reporters said. And one Houston resident said, “We need the LORD’s help.”

A few months ago, I told about the unusual experience of flooding in my home town in Canada.

Along the Costa Del Sol the semi-desert landscape was covered in water during February.

Floods are a sign: of judgement and of cleansing. Isn’t it the same thing? The floods can be a wake up call to draw folks to the Father. And like the Holy Spirit, the water washes away impurities.

And so, to the night sky recently.

Lightning

We were driving home to the south coast from Madrid. I had done my tour of duty at the wheel and as my hubby drove, I nodded off.

“Sarah, you have to see this!” he called out. “If you’re going to blog about this you have to see THIS.”

Groggy, I opened my eyes, first fleetingly, ultimately in awe. There was lighting: flash after flash, with the occasional bolt strong and clear. But though the lightning continued to flash for up to an hour, there was no sound, no thunder from the heavens.

Another sign, I think… God was reaching down to us. He was speaking to us then with a still, profound voice.

God’s Word

“I am the light of the world” said Jesus. “I am … I am… Believe. You have seen me, you have seen the Father.” These are echoes of his words to us.

“There will be wars and rumours of wars. These are signs but the time has not yet come.”

“Many will be deceived, even the elect.”

“They will argue about my name, Yehova.”


Action

Folks we need to read and to pray. We need to consolidate, not fight amongst ourselves. We need to be alert, with our lamps filled with oil. We need to be ready because the time is close at hand.

Go to Bible Gateway. Look up the texts above, which I’ve paraphrased. Search the scriptures: Matthew 24-25 to start. Hungry? Search the Word. His Word is Truth.

Time is at hand. Draw close to God and He will draw close to you. Ask for dreams from Him, visions and unctions. Ask for wisdom and an increase in Faith. If you are cross with someone, ask God to reveal to you how He sees that person: a friend, a stranger, a politician, a policeman. Ask and He will show you. See from God’s perspective. Get close to God. He’s waiting, He’s calling.

Personally

I dropped my personal goals agenda a good while ago. But at the start of this year, He said, “If you want to do something, this is the year to do it. No more chances after this.” I thought He meant my writing pieces, and prayers He’d called me to do. But earlier this month, He showed me He meant even in choosing/buying a car!

God is close, so very close. Let us open ourselves to Him, completely surrendered to His agenda, so that He can use us and take us on the adventure of a lifetime. Time is SO SHORT.

Won’t you linger with Him now?

The LORD has said, “There is a storm coming…”

I’m on a brief break. You might remember my saying this newsletter might not get out as I’m moving as the LORD leads, and am planning a literal move.

But all is possible with God.

Today, as I was relaxing in the middle of the afternoon, as one learns to do when one lives in Spain, He spoke deep into my spirit, “There is a storm coming.”

It was ominous. A warning. One I’ve heard others say they’ve heard from Him. To my surprise, this time He told me directly.

There is a storm coming.

We must be prepared for Jesus’ arrival. We must be prepared for a Tsunami in society. We must be prepared for war, for violence, for dramatic upheaval, for loss of life. One or some or all of these things are going to come to pass.

When first I heard Him say it, I thought He was referring to my family. That may be the case. Storms come. We must ride them out.

As the family of Believers, let us be prepared. Let us ride it out. Let us help one another and those who are lost.

Let us always remember to be prepared to tell them of our hope.

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;” (1 Peter 3:15)

I plan to meditate on this Word, and allow its power to bring me to a new level of readiness. Something is coming… We must be ready. I trust the LORD and the power of His Word to equip me.

Strong Word: My Perspective on Root Cause to the Flooding in Canada

I am Canadian. I love my homeland. It is strong, it is free.

But it is decaying. Little by little, the values on which the nation was built have become passe, and the post-modern definition of freedom has become totally secularised, unChristian, hedonistic. As a result, the physical landscape of the nation that is being distorted marks the moral decay.

The fall-out to recent changes in laws has resulted in flooding of supernatural proportions in Ontario and Quebec, the heartland of the country from which the nation was born (Upper and Lower Canada). I do not, for example, think it coincidence that within weeks of marijuana being legalised the nation has experienced flooding which, as one person suggested to me, is of Biblical proportions.

There will be climactic and weather explanations. But this is my spiritual take: We’ve ushered in the flooding by moving away from Judeo-Christian values. Didn’t God find only Noah was righteous and as a consequence of sin, flooded the earth? No, He will never flood the earth again, but it does not mean He does not allow nature to reveal His displeasure.

To follow Jesus means we value all people, and love every one of our neighbours, regardless of colour, life choices or morality. But we do not love sin, and God clearly demarcates what is sin and what is not. If we love, we do not encourage sin or legalise sin in our nation.

“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (Galatians 5:19-21)

The body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and so to smoke pot is not treating the body with care and respect. Yes, there are MS patients who benefit from the drug, but this is a relatively small proportion of citizens. The fallout from legalising the drug will be seen over decades to come, but in the immediate, I believe God has responded to the change in law.

Irrespective of our differing political persuasions, we must together pray for our nations, and that the governments that God brings will be godly. Moral decay and the erosion of our Western Society is rampant and chaos is world-wide; be it through natural disaster, terrorism, economic collapse, political protest or war, we are imploding; time is short and one day Jesus will come to divide the nations between sheep and goat. (Matthew 25:31-46)

I desperately want Canada to be a sheep nation. Though I will not be the one to judge, I do see that this once innocent colonial country, built on nobel expectations, has yielded to secularist philosophy and has been been sliding into moral and spiritual decay. It is just one of many nations on the same destructive path, and we as Believers must ask God to rescue our nations from themselves.

“But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.” (1 Timothy 6:9)

In the case of Canada, the heartland of the nation has literally been drowning. How much more needs to occur before people in Canada, and around the world, will wake up to the Father and recognise a Good God is calling us and we need to heed His call.

Wake up World, it’s flooding!

From the east and west, north and south, the world is flooding.

God flooded the earth after He commanded that Noah build an ark of protection (Genesis 5 – 10) against the rains for the animals and his family. Then God promised He would never again flood the entire earth (Genesis 9:11), and He sent the rainbow as a sign (Genesis 9:13).

So He will not again flood the entire earth. But just as earthquakes have been promised (Matthew 24:7), so are many diseases and famines. Flooding is creating chaos across the globe.

My beautiful homeland of Canada is encountering floods across thousands of miles, and in particular in the heartlands of Ontario and Quebec, where the country was founded. See this image to the right? This beautiful shoreline is 4 feet higher than usual, and those in Ontario who know me will recognise this as such. It was my former home.

And the feature photo above was taken last week in Gatineau, Quebec.

Why is it flooding? Because it’s raining, obviously. But it is beyond what’s natural. Some put it all down to global warming. Across the country and across the world, flooding abounds. But I believe there is supernatural significance. I believe the LORD is cleansing the earth. Joel and Hosea talk about the early and the latter rain (see also James 5:7). There is teaching about the flow of the river of the Holy Spirit, and that it is like the flow of a natural river (study Ezekiel 47); John 7:38). I believe we are in a time of warning and cleansing. The lands need it, and the people across the globe need it.

God is preparing us for Jesus’ return.

Recently I encouraged us to Be Ready. Like the wise virgins (Matthew 25:1) we need to be ready: to encourage one another, to testify of our hope in Jesus Christ, to be with Jesus upon his return.

The world is experiencing God’s cleansing. He is calling us to testify. My country of Canada has passed many laws in recent times that are ungodly, unhealthy, unhelpful to bringing in the lambs of God to Jesus. My thought is of the recent passing of the legalisation of marijuana as a law that opens the gateway for more and more abuse of the human body, intended to be a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

Recently, I posted on Linked In and will soon feature in the on-line magazine ASPIRING WOMAN an item encouraging us to Be Ready.

As we look at the signs of our times, it seems the time is growing very short. Jesus will return. Whether it is tomorrow or a thousand tomorrows from now, we need to be ready for him. We are his bride.

As we experience first hand the signs of our times, let us be prepared for his glorious return, in our witness and our walk, so that we might closely resemble him now, and be ready as his bride, when he comes.

“And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.” (Revelation 22:17)

The Moon proves God Exists

How can I share with a friend who does not know God? How can I ‘prove’ God?

We can’t prove what God has deemed an act of faith. But we can reveal God in the everyday – and every night – experiences that we all share. It is up to God to give the insight, desire, and faith to seek and to discover Himself. But we can offer our own appreciation for the beauty of the earth and of the universe, as a gift to help a friend to ‘see’ God.

full moonLook at a full moon. How can anyone doubt God when looking at the stars. Some will. But with those whom God has chosen to know Him, and whom He has put in our path, with those we have the mighty signs and wonders of the universe to share.

Our common ground is the very ground we walk upon, the sky we live beneath, the sun that always rises in the east and the moon that is our light by night.

Ready: Share what you see and how you see it, with those whom you love, and allow your awareness and appreciation to be your witness.

Set: Gaze at the universe. Allow its beauty to guide and encourage your faith and your boldness.

Go: Set before your thoughts your friends and family who do not believe. Pray for them, and be ready to give an account of your walk with the LORD.

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear” (1Peter 3:15)

Natural Beauty to Share

Creation is Grand… isn’t it? For the benefit of those who don’t recognize creation, we may start by calling it natural beauty, to avoid unnecessary debate. How do we enable people with little concept of the all powerful nature of a loving God see creation as we see it?

Sunrise 1Ready: It’s time to share our perspective of God’s natural creation. Yes, He created it supernaturally, but human beings experience it naturally. Let’s reach out from where others are and enable them to discover for themselves the awesomeness of creation.

Set:  The world has tremendous natural beauty. We see it in the sky, earth and sea. When I look up at the clouds and imagine the handiwork of God, making rain form in fluffy pillows of unusual shapes, I experience wonder! When I look at the stars at night, or the shimmering moon, I am sometimes dumbfounded at their beauty. Then there is the sunrise, and the shining day, or the setting of it to consider…. and that’s just the sky! What about the waters, the earth and vegetation, and the marvelous array of living creatures. These are all proof of God’s creative hand. Romans chapter 1 is full of God’s downloading of our natural understanding of His creation. But many friends today don’t see things this way. How do we engage in a way that will help them to see things as we see them? It isn’t through debate, as personally stimulating as that may be for some of us. It is through the awesomeness of God Himself. 1. Tap into God’s natural beauty yourself. Find a specific place – even if it is simply a piece of sky – to share with another person. 2. Pray. With whom is God asking you to share this place and experience? 3. Take this friend who does not believe, to this naturally beautiful ‘place’. 4. Ask them what they see and experience in nature. Just listen, tapping into their perspective.
