Evangelism Must Change: Billy Graham’s passing marks an End to an Era

Revelation: Word for Today

Evangelism needs to change now… The passing of Pastor Billy Graham marks the end of an era and a new focus of evangelism must steer the Church. Evangelism now needs to go out specifically and designed for the Jewish people. Here is the scripture and the reason why…

“Indeed He says,

‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant

To raise up the tribes of Jacob,

And to restore the preserved ones of Israel;

I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles,

That You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.” (Isaiah 49:6)

Responsive Course of Action*

The veil is lifting from the Jewish people (2 Corinthians 3:14-15) and to be effective in evangelism, the Church must shift focus to GOD’s chosen people. It is time to provoke them to jealousy (Romans 11:11) and to deliver Yeshua’s message and identity to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The message is not salvation in the same way it is to Gentiles. Rather it is for them to be restored to their Jewish roots (secular Jews have lost faith in Messiah or in Jehovah, Father G-D) and to have their yoke removed (Orthodox Jews) because the Messiah is coming, has come and is coming again.

If the Church doesn’t shift and now, the LORD will return with far fewer in Faith than He wants.

The Church operates for the LORD, not the LORD for the Church. He is calling on all to focus on His Chosen People. This is the time, before war and rumours of war (Matthew 24) intensify. Now is the Time to reach out to the Jews.

We are at War: the most important post I’ve ever written

WAKE UP CHURCH: We are at War

I have been having a recurring dream for weeks. Not nightly but frequently. At first I couldn’t remember it. Finally, I have remembered and it is very clear now that I have read various matters in the news (fake or not) that all collide into one message.

Those who seek righteousness, whether Christian or Secular, are at war with a shadow global elite superpower that is seeking to control thought, societal structure, money, politics. Those who are Believers in a Creator may call the source of this power the devil. But even that is a simplification.

We are at war with control.

In my dream I am in a sea or ocean, surrounded by an octopus. I am watching. In a most recent dream, it was a small octopus and the message was that I needed to give up control in my own life to see this octopus leave. I’ve been surrendering and for those who know me, I’m fastidious and organised and … somewhat controlling of my world surrounding me. This of course is at odds with a life surrendered to Jesus and so I struggle on. BUT today, seeing the octopus again in the dream, I’ve yielded, and yielded myself to GOD for my sake, and for the sake of my family.

The Octopus

Having understood my own “octopus of control” has given me freedom to understand the universality of my recurring dream. In it the octopus is HUGE and I watch as it undulates through the water, silently, stealthily, powerfully.

AND NOW, we witness a global shaking of the stock markets, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu under investigation for corruption (while South African President Jacob Zuma can’t be got rid of) and President Trump under all manner of relentless attack, and all these matters are converging: The Octopus is massive, and represents the establishment that rules the world in politics, media, economics and all manner of world wide institutions. Those who seek to block globalisation or simply do their own thing (run their own country according to its own laws and constitutions) are denigrated, not tolerated, accused of anything to deflect, distract or demote their democratic authority. All of this, that is to say, ALL of this is a huge corporate plan to control individuals in the name of peace, but it is not for peace but for the sake of power, control and money.

Does this sound like a James Bond film or a Marvel Superhero story? I’ve often perceived that science fiction is prophetic and often such unimaginable characters or events have eventually come to pass.

Think me crazy, deluded or ultra-right?

I’m just a Believer in a very just and righteous GOD who gives us insights, sometimes into leaders we deserve, and offers us help and hope when we pray.

So what is one to do? We pray. And we can win. Remember Gideon and David, the few and the small? They were victors because they trusted GOD. But they also took action appropriate to their situations. They fought in faith and they won.

Our weapons are the scriptures.

The sword of the Spirit is the Word of GOD, and

“the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds”. (1Corinthians 10:4)

We have to pray. We have to seek the LORD. We have to wake up to what is going on around us and stand for what is good and right in humanity and against that which is evil. God has given us a spirit of a sound mind. Let’s open our eyes, open our hearts and our Bibles, and let’s pray.

Jesus didn’t only die to save people from sin. He died to change the way society operated. That is being eroded in the name of humanism and for the sake of control. Please pray as Jesus taught us, not our will but thine be done. Shalom is GOD’s peace. Let us pray for peace to fight this invisible war, a war of shadows, deceit, manipulation, and control.

And if you think I’m crazy, deluded or extreme, ask GOD what to do, who to believe and what to trust. Or if you don’t believe in GOD but sense Truth in what I write, then send this on so others will get the same message.

Shalom – GOD’s peace – be to you and to the world. Amen.

Church Under Fire: Times are Divisive

Love One Another

It’s vitally important the people of God stick together, love one another and seek to respect, enjoy, love, honour and trust one another.

Words are limiting. We often hear or read what a fellow believer says and shun them because we don’t agree. Arguing is pointless. But what about finding out what they mean… in case there is a truth in it you never saw before?

Support One Another

We who know Jesus are under attack. We who seek to stand in the gap for those not yet aware of the saving grace of Jesus are under attack. The first point of attack is division.

Character of Jesus, Character of the Believer

Righteousness and Love are the two-pronged character of God, the Father of Creation and humanity. He gives love and offers righteousness. But we can’t have one without the other. Society through humanism is offering love. We must also stand for righteousness and not be confused by the permissive love of society. Love without righteousness creates weakness.

Love and Righteousness

Righteousness without love is harsh and brutal. For centuries the Christian movement has had this error. Consider the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition as examples. “Turn to Christ or die” and in some cases “Turn to Christ and we’ll kill you anyway” were echoed throughout countries in Europe and even into the Middle East – Jerusalem in particular.

But we cannot er to the other extreme — Love without Righteousness.

So often in society, an era moves to one extreme, only then to attempt to resolve through swinging to the other. This, I believe, is what has happened in recent years with some factions of Christianity. Some portions, in the name of love, are accepting behaviours and choices in the name of Love that are unrighteous… Some of these folk even becoming angry and reject those who continue to stand for the love and righteousness of God. Bitter division is not of the LORD. It is self-righteousness.

Matthew 24:12 says, “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”

And in Mark 13:22 we read, “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”

Hold Fast

We must hold fast to our faith but also to our principles in this world of sin and shame, so that the light, love and righteousness of the LORD stands firm, in us and through us. True love is sharing the full truth of the Gospel. There are certain standards that must be upheld, not in our own strength but through the power of God in us.

Division in the Body of Yeshua is wrong. We must overcome, rather than assume the worst and turn from one another. Remember, one way for the Truth of Jesus to be seen by the world is through our love for one another.

“By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” (1 John 3:16)

Let us not allow pettiness and misunderstandings, or differences of opinion divide us. Let us learn from one another in a spirit of humility, and embrace the common ground. Jesus is our Saviour. Father is our Creator. The Holy Spirit is our source of connection and power from the Father through Jesus. Let us rejoice together and be glad, for the glory of the LORD is risen upon us. We have much to be thankful for and much to express to show it:)

“Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous; And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!” (Psalm 32:11)

Amen.

LGBT issue vs Straight Talk

“And you shall know them by their fruit.” (Matthew 7:15)

I’m a heterosexual. I think in today’s society I’m still allowed to be. But am I allowed to say it?

In past decades, those with sexual identity different from the biological norm have been castigated, and their grief was more than understandable; condemnation was rife. However today, “Western” society is bearing the brunt of their pain as the pendulum seems to have swung from one extreme to the other.

The anger, pain and bitterness that the LGBT community and those who support it have expressed has become monstrous, and as a heterosexual I feel my identity and freedom are under threat. Some of their anger is understandable, considering historically, they’ve been judged and excluded, criminalised and demonised for centuries. But now, those who speak physiological truth are under attack.

Society has gone to great lengths to encourage people who are “gay” and to show them acceptance. In Christian circles as well as outside the Church, this acceptance is in the name of Love, even God’s love. But God is Truth as well as Love, and He is justice as well as mercy. I’m very concerned that over this issue, the Church does not see clearly that Satan is attacking society, including the Christian community, with this issue, and blurring the clarity and common sense of the Gospel.

Love is good, kind, gentle, patient, doesn’t keep a record of wrongs (1 Corinthians 13), but God is not only Love. And even if God were to be summed up with one word, Love, then Love is not only acceptance, but also responsibility and accountability.

What is the fruit of accepting the LGBT community in the way it has done in the last decade or two?

In schools, innocent children are confused, being asked to consider whether they’d like to be a boy or a girl.  Young people are encouraged to try gay sex before they confirm whether they are gay, straight or bi.

I like men as people, I like women as people. But I wouldn’t engage in sex with someone in order to discover my identity.

Gay parade marchers exhibit orgy-like behaviour on the streets in front of children, in the name of sexual freedom; however, heterosexual behaviour in like fashion would be considered pornographic, or at least beyond the 9 o’clock watershed*.

People en masse seem to be buying into the indoctrination that, all in the name of love, society is meant to welcome gay and straight sex as equal and not to be judged. To suggest one who lives as a transvestite has no psychological issues is taboo. And those who do oppose the new sexual freedoms in any way are now demonised.

But as for me, I am deeply concerned about the confusion being put upon innocent children. And I am deeply surprised at the confusion in the Church. We have turned the truth upside down and reality has become confused.

Personally, my values in personhood are being sabotaged by an incessant barrage of the LGBT narrative, suggesting that life is about exploring sexual freedom in defiance of biological reality. Random sex, gay or straight, has been proven to be unhealthy both physically and psychologically.

I am tired of being bombarded by images of two men or women kissing romantically or of gay sexual encounters being displayed on tv screens, because it makes me wonder whether two men or two women walking down the street together are gay or straight, and I don’t particularly like my thought-life being invaded.

The LGBT agenda has been successful in obtaining LGBT freedom of expression; why aren’t they willing to stop there? It’s gone far beyond that into indoctrination of society to “think and do” as we do.

I hate it.

Strong words? Please respond as to whether you agree or disagree with me. Time is short. We may not have the freedom to disagree much longer.

*9 o’clock watershed refers to the time after which television censorship is considerably lifted as it is seen as after the viewing/bed time of children under the age of 12 or 15.

A Gentile who follows Yeshua is Sounding the Alarm!

I am a gentile who believes in Yeshua

My family and I recently spent a wonderful, fun evening with a Jewish family who live as Christian leaders. They are good friends who are leading a church for Sunday worship. Here I am, walking in revelation of Saturday as the LORD’s true Sabbath and hungry for more understanding of Hebrew and the Hebraic Roots of my faith, and they, while still on a Jewish diet and confident in their Jewish heritage, live as Christians, not as Messianic believers. Interesting.

They are pragmatic: knowing they are not under law but under grace, rooted in a secular society with Judeo-Christian heritage, they expect that if they ran a church on Saturday they’d draw even fewer people than if they worship on the British traditional Christian day of worship, Sunday (the Lord’s Day).

In contrast, as a Gentile, it seems to me that to get the message out of the need for Gentile Believers to grow in their Jewish roots, we need to highlight the history of the move of the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday, as one piece of the puzzle needed. A call I have is to write to “wake up” the Christian Believer to all the gunk – the error of the Christian Church from the time of Constantine and the development of Eastern Orthodoxy and Roman Catholicism.

Wake up, Sleeping Church

As a Watchman, I am meant to stress that Time is Short and the sleeping Church must awaken to its Call to the spiritual war against the anti-Christ, who threatens – through temptation and distraction – the hearts of individuals and nations.

Never before have I had such understanding and vision of the way Satan works: today he has divided nations over gay rights (abomination made legal as under guise of human rights), abortion (murder made legal under guise of women’s rights and freedom of choice/pro-choice), adultery (polygamy made legal under Sharia Law in the West) and more. In Germany, one can marry their pet (beastiality made legal, the ultimate in animal cruelty).

Those who believe in a right and wrong based on Old and New Testament values, whether practicing Christianity or Jewish Orthodoxy or not, have a basic “knowing” (see Romans 1) that is lost in Western Society today. Even many, many folk who are professing atheists, do know right from wrong in some facets, and see the decay.

The Church – whether it worships on Saturday or Sunday or every day or any day – needs and must wake up, pray, take the mountains of influence in our society*, and defend the heritage on which it was built, else it will fall and with it, the right to speak of Jesus, worship the Father, Creator of the Universe, and operate through the Holy Spirit.

Traditional churches, Evangelical congregations, Pentecostal revivalists, Messianic followers: all who declare Jesus as their Saviour and Messiah, MUST live as though Jesus is coming tomorrow, or is never coming, because the world is a mess, western society is deteriorating and a cataclysmic pace, and we may meet Our LORD on Judgement Day, unprepared, complacent; and the door will be closed upon us (Matthew 25).

Please help me to sound the alarm

So, if I’m “preaching to the converted” please send this message out to all you know who need to hear it. And if you feel convicted as you read these words, please adhere to the conviction and change how you operate in your faith. The gate is narrow (and to my mind, it seems to be getting narrower) and few are they who get through.

I’m not afraid. But I am alarmed at the rate of change in our society; the disintegration of common sense, goodness and holiness, is profound. Wrong has indeed become right and right has become wrong (someone please reply and tell me where this prophetic end-of-days verse is in the Bible).

So, hear the Shofar, sound the Alarm, Wake up Church, and make an inner change that will propel you to be purposeful and useful to the LORD’s call on your life.

Carnal Extremism: LGBT and Islamic Terrorists

“Make Love not War” was the 1960’s slogan.

Today we have both in the extreme.

I’m not here to judge but I am here to call a spade a spade.

In my prayer time today, I saw the flesh in all it’s “glory” (some might say “gory”)….

Walking in the Spirit

When we walk in the spirit, we walk with love, joy, peace, goodness, kindness, gentleness, patience, faith and self-control. These are the character fruits of the Holy Spirit which we inherit with Jesus when we choose a life following him. (Galatians 5:22-23)

We who live in the Faith of Christianity war against ourselves: flesh versus spirit. (1Peter 2:11) But ultimately, the battle belongs to the LORD and as we surrender to Him, the Spirit wins.

Those who do not know the LORD, walk in the flesh. The devil hates the Spirit and encourages indulgence of the flesh. Today we are seeing this freedom of the flesh exercised to the extreme.

Anti-Christ spirit and walking in the Flesh

I had a picture as I was praying today, of a person surrounded by fire. As I prayed, I sensed it was one full of flesh and the devil. I understood in an instant, this image had to do with political and social influences on our Western society that encourage  indulgence of the flesh; they call it freedom.

I thought then of the lust for blood and murder over the Islamic terrorists and connected two extremes:

Those who lust in the flesh, seeking blood (terrorists) and those who lust in the flesh, seeking debauchery (hedonism, homosexual activity) are under the influence of the same spirit who led Adam and Eve to sin, ultimately dying in the Spirit and discovering the shame of the Flesh. These two extremes do not seek to unite, but they are united by the same spirit who is against the Holy Spirit and against Holiness.

I do not for one second equate murder with homosexual activity, any more than I would equate Islamic Terrorism with LGBT rights. They are polar opposites. But they are spear-headed by the same anti-Christ spirit that fostered Naziism.

The battle for Righteousness

We who seek to walk in the Spirit and stand for righteousness have an almighty battle to fight. The LGBT community are not aware of their frailty and sin; society has endorsed their choices to give them freedom in the flesh, which helps their campaign but does not help them. They don’t know the Spirit and so they don’t know they are “in the flesh”; though they seek approval, acceptance and love, they are only bandaging their wounds. They do not need condemnation but they do need conviction. So, I pray for them, that God’s Spirit might approach them and lead them into His love and truth, and His fruits of peace, joy and goodness….

On the other hand, the terrorists stand for a god that encourages bloodshed. Some who do not know the Father might equate this with Old Testament activities endorsed by God. Certainly the Terrorists who represent a fraction of the Islamic Fundamentalists would say they are doing the will of Allah. But the God of the Bible – Old Testament and New Testament – is not Allah. And murder goes against the law of the land, which the Father does not endorse. Instead, this is the anti-Christ of the age seeking to destroy godliness.

What is to be done

We need to wait on the LORD and to pray. We need wisdom and the urge from the Spirit to guide us into deeper holiness ourselves, and to stand in the gap for those on the brink of self-destruction (living to the extreme, under the anti-Christ spirit) and for those who are mis-guided who support them. We need to pray for the World, which is in a complete mess, that the Holy Spirit would cover the earth and convict the world of sin and the devil. We need to ask the LORD our GOD, Yehovah, Father, Creator of the Universe, to keep us in Faith and relationship with Him no matter what. And we need to look out for signs of the devil and signs of hope, and stand with hope – knowing “Faith is the substance of things hoped for” and “Hope deferred makes the heart sick”.

My mandate – Our mandate

My mandate for 2018 is to say what I know and pray to learn more.

Our mandate is to follow our Father God, with the power of the blood of our Saviour Yeshua/Jesus, and to ask for revelation from the Holy Spirit to convict any and all whom He calls; and we need to allow Him to build and grow our spirit to walk out our lives fully surrendered and fully committed to Him.

We need to know our Call and Purpose and to Obey. Time is short, souls are dying and the world is imploding.

“Let us stay in the Unity of the Holy Spirit (Psalm 133), find strength from Him and carry on boldly and lovingly as our model Jesus inspires us to do.

In His name, I pray. Amen.”

The Spirit of Christmas: a new look

Spiritual Language offers Optimism

In recent years, I’ve been hearing more and more frequently the expression, “the spirit of Christmas”. It seemed odd the first time I heard in in the secular world. But I thought at first, perhaps this marks a move toward embracing the spiritual aspect of Christmas. That was naive of me as I now believe that, although the expression is referring to the fun, celebration and gift-giving of Christmas, there is no recognition of anything of Jesus nor anything of the spiritual realm as Believers would see it. We Believers can digest it; we can share in the use of the phraseology, but take note: if we do, what is it actually that we are sharing? Not, I think, anything of the Holy Spirit or of Godly spirituality, but rather, it is something of the spirit of the Age.

Destabilising Traditional Thinking (i.e. rocking the boat)

This will touch the heart of many a Believer, who sincerely looks forward to Christmas as a means to share the birth of the Saviour of the world and to evangelise friends and family. But I think it’s time we wake up to the fact that although “Christ” is in the word, there is not the spirit of the Saviour of the world in the festival.

Perhaps I am a grinch, or a scrooge – although I’m not particularly known to be lacking in generosity. Certainly in years past, I accused my husband of being such, because for as long as I’ve known him he has never had anything to do with Christmas.

“It’s a pagan festival, Sarah. Don’t you know?” Some such words were what came out of him the first Christmas I knew him. He tried to explain: he hated the tree with its pagan roots and the fake dating. Much more, he decried the fact that if God wanted us to celebrate Jesus’ birthday, he would have given us a date.

Well, I’ve come round to Alan’s way of thinking, not least of which because I’ve been exploring our Hebraic Roots. But it isn’t just that. It’s more that I have “seen the light!” which makes me recognise the ruse that is Christmas and the fleshly nature of it.

I think we who know Jesus and who celebrate Christmas may do so for the best intentions of the world, but it is simply that: of the world.

Oh, I held onto Christmas for a while, clinging to the validity of the Nativity scene. And I suppose I still enjoy it. But in the case of our decorations, even that piece of Seasonal Artillery I’ve passed on to a charity shop.

History

December time was marked for the Pagan Festival of the Winter Solstice until Three Hundred and Something AD. And then, as Constantine made Christianity a true religion and wanted every one to convert, all things of the Church began to change and new traditions were born. Jewish connections were abandoned, and the Roman Catholic tradition marked the birth of Jesus, generally mark 25th December. The Protestants would maintain the tradition. The Orthodox also marked the birthday but then, as now, looked to early January for their festival.

In Victorian England Christmas saw an explosion with cards and gift-giving becoming a trend.

Now Christmas is a world-wide event, recognised across vast territories of non-Christian cultures.

Jesus may be the “reason for the Season” but that isn’t really common knowledge except amongst Christians.

The truth as I see it is, Christmas has become a tradition (as has Easter), whose root is heathen, dressed in Christian garb for centuries, but now returning to its original root. And for Believers, I think we need – as I mentioned in the last newsletter – to step away from tradition, even when it’s church tradition, if it is only tradition but not really truth.

Birth of Jesus

Jesus was most likely born during the Feast of Tabernacles, in the autumn – our late September or early October. What’s in a date? Well, the creator made it abundantly clear Jesus died at His festival of Passover. So, why would He not share Jesus’ birth so we could celebrate it, unless He didn’t really consider it important for us to mark it.

Letting go of Christmas has been easy for me this year. In previous years I found the Season hard because Alan didn’t like it. It was a lonely time for me, unable to enter into the celebration fully as others do. (Not that Alan denied me, but rather, since he wasn’t interested, it created a void for me.) But this year I am just not interested… because I’ve realised it is something of the flesh and I’m no longer interested.

It helps that my son gets it too

How do I cope with the Season with a youngish boy? I’ve always given him presents though never, anything marked from Santa. This year we’ve just finished celebrating Hanukah. Again, son has received presents… and has enjoyed that. We’re finished now, before the hullabaloo of the mercantile-centred 25th of December.

As for our Christmas day? We’ve been invited to family and will enjoy being with them and we will engage, even with gift-giving, because that’s what is in our culture. “When in Rome…” I will not shun the day, nor will I preach against it and spoil the day for those who have so graciously invited us. BUT I do not spear-head a Christmas Day celebration anymore. And that’s because I realise what’s behind it.

Spirit of Christmas

I began earlier by saying I realise there is a spirit of Christmas and it is not the Holy Spirit. For me, realising this is enough to ignore the Christmas celebration. Over the years, when my dear hubby gave me information, I wasn’t convinced. But more recently, became convicted by the lingo, “the spirit of Christmas.” For me, this “innocent” phrase was the proverbial straw…

I am a truth-searcher. I reckon most of this readership is also. In large part, that’s why I’m sharing.

I am not indicating we all shun Christmas because it isn’t for me to say. But, as always, if we are resistant to a “new thing” we need to ask ourselves Why? Are we surrendered to our Father God? What are we hanging onto? Can we let go and more importantly, are we meant to let go? Remember, “We can do all things through Christ who gives us strength.” (Philippians 4:13)

Here’s a little ditty which I wrote. To my way of thinking, it identifies what is behind the spirit of Christmas.

The Spirit of Christmas

People laughing

or glaring

flaring for a parking space

or a bit of bargain

desperate to impress

the boss or mistress

such is the spirit of Christmas

It is up to each individual to decide what to do next.

As Jerusalem is declared the Capital of Israel

Embassy or Temple

As construction is planned for a new American Embassy in Jerusalem, could this construction in any way reflect a rebuilding of the Temple long-awaited by Jews and Christians around the world?

Is there a way that one embassy construction site can somehow dovetail into a construct of the Temple of God?

I dunno. Wouldn’t seem so. But the coincidence of timing is astounding.

I’m just sayin’ – something seems to be in the air. Innocent by man but may the will of the Father be done.

Let’s pray!

“Father, day after day there is more tension in the world. Jerusalem has been the key to Middle East strife for decades. I pray You will reveal the truth behind the forces seeking to have their way in Israel and the Palestinian Territories. I pray for righteousness, Your righteousness. We know too, that there must be much calamity before the Prince of Peace returns and all is restored back to You. We pray “Your will be done.” In the name of Yeshua, your son Jesus’ name, Amen.

UNESCO vs USA and Israel

Last week the US withdrew from UNESCO, siting anti-Semitism as a major factor.

You might remember that last year UNESCO sited the temple mount in Jerusalem as an historical site only for Muslims, discounting it as Israel’s holiest site for five millennia. This was one of several actions or stances that UNESCO has undertaken over recent months and years that are counter to Israel’s well-being.

One year ago, UNESCO – the world organisation that “encourages international peace and universal respect for human rights by promoting collaboration among nations” (see: UNESCO), voted that The Temple Mount in Jerusalem is only an historic site for Muslims, not for Jews, nor for Christians. Perhaps their thinking is that if they grant Arab supremacy, the Muslims will be appeased.

And what did this UNESCO vote signify in the Spirit?

Time is short. Zechariah 12 speaks about the attempt that will come to sever Jerusalem from the Jews; it prophecies the rage and battles that will ensue as a result.

We are called to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122).

The war over Jerusalem is inevitable. I say time is short, because the signs that this war is coming sooner rather than later, are increasing. The fight over Jerusalem is key to the peace process between Palestinians and Jews, and those in diplomatic relations seek to divide Jerusalem, taking some if not all of it from Jewish control.

As recorded in Matthew 25, in the Last Days, upon Jesus’ return to earth (to Jerusalem), he will judge the nations and separate those of his (sheep nations) from those who will go eternal punishment (goat nations). I believe all nations will receive God’s judgment in significant measure in relation to how they regard Israel.

Those who bless the nation of Abraham, which is Israel, will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed. (Genesis 12:3)

As popular or unpopular as Donald Trump, current US president may be in the international sphere, he is a blessing to Israel. As the US withdraws from UNESCO, so too does Israel, enabled to stand against UNESCO’s rejection of Israel’s history.

It seems to me that this president, who doesn’t seem to have diplomacy or fear, has the boldness to stand on what he thinks are righteous principles. And as a result, Israel is blessed.

Biblically speaking, whether we like or dislike Donald Trump, whether his actions, statements or words agree with our views, world peace and order depend much less on the President of the United States and more, much more, on the State of Israel and the relationship it has with other sovereign states.

UNESCO and the UN that it is connected to, are seeking world peace at the expense of Israel at their — and our peril. Let us pray, first for the peace of Jerusalem, and then that the eyes of the international community will see what must be done to ensure peace. And may many nations be ready to receive the Prince of Peace when he comes to judge the earth. (Matthew 25)

Two Allies to meet again: Hope is in healthy alliances

As tension mounts over catastrophic weather and military threat, two powerful allies may meet a third time in less than a year — a step, I believe, toward supernatural sanity and world peace.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to meet President Donald Trump… again.

And we continue to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.

On Trump and Kim Jong-Un

A few short weeks ago, many laughed and were angered at Trump who threatened the Korean leader after he sent a missile toward the US. Reporters and anti-trumpeters accused the American president of being a twin with Kim Jong-Un. But as the leader of North Korea then set his sights on Japan, no one laughed any longer.

Trump’s declaration of “Fire and Fury” was met with sarcasm and accusation; and yet, his words were effective. The North Korean backed off from his threat against the American base in Guam.

Instead, he sent another test missile; but it was over Japan, and it was perceived as “no threat to the United States”.

Now the media is responding differently too, to this missile which flew over Japan. They aren’t talking about Trump or Kim Jong-Un. Now they are talking about Washington and Pyongyang. Why? Because it’s brings distance and detachment which these leaders and the world needs.

We continue to pray for peace.

Two Allies to meet Again

And as a positive side to the tension in the world, there is hope when two powerful people meet to strengthen their alliance. President Trump will meet with PM Benjamin Netanyahu — again — in September.

September… September… September

September is the first month of the Jewish Calendar. It is the month when there is a feast of Tabernacles, reflective of the Hebrews in Egypt erecting tents to show their faith. It is the month in which the 6 day war took place in 1967, fifty years ago. It was unprovoked by the Jews but at its end, Jerusalem was returned to them, fulfilling scripture.

This September promises to be a blockbuster in terms of God’s authority being revealed again. It is 100 years since the Balfour Declaration, the British mandate to return Israel back the the Jews. It’s 50 years since the war which brought Jerusalem back to the Jews. 50 is significant to God: it’s the Jubilee, when ownership is returned back and debts are lifted.

Personally, I believe something amazing and threatening is about to happen this autumn.

That the most powerful leader in the world is allied with the most powerful leader supernaturally, I find comforting, encouraging and very exciting.

Will President Trump meet again with PM B Netanyahu later this month?

I’m counting the days, marking each day of September as though it is significant, and waiting, waiting for the Feast of Tabernacles and all the LORD may surely do. I don’t know what exactly is going to happen, but it seems to me it will be profound. I can hardly wait, but while I do, I pray, I yearn and I look deeply within to make sure I have nothing against a neighbour.

Are we witnessing the Demise of Democracy?

This post is a re-draft of the previous post, Demise of Democracy.  With so much rapid change in our societies, I’m finding nuances and changes in my own thinking. I’ve left the previous post but take license in the fact I can dig deeper, clarify and change my perspective from time to time. You’ll find the earlier post at: Demise of Democracy original

There have been protests!

In London England recently, people were marching against the elected government, blaming the government’s attempt to balance the federal budget on a disastrous tower block fire that killed almost 100 people.

Ironically, on the same day across the globe in Hong Kong, marches took place as people expressed their anger at being unable to vote for legitimate candidates — as promised when China repatriated Hong Kong — in the true spirit of democracy.

A few months ago, when Donald Trump was elected president, many of those who did not vote for him held placards and shouted, “Not my President” in a manner of defiance not seen since the protests against the Viet Nam war in 1972.

Democracy seems to be imploding.

My perspective

There is a move toward globalisation, pushed by those holding the international purse strings. President Trump is one world leader resisting the move. There is increasing tension between those who want One World Government and those who do not.

In the middle are two groups

Group One is comprised of primarily idealistic young innocents, who believe the rhetoric of the non-ruling parties and think they are fighting for the rights of the underclass; in their self-righteous idealism, they protest against what they do not like to accept: that the establishment has won the right to govern the country.

Group Two wants something to do so they protest against the establishment who can’t provide them with jobs or who hand out support which makes them state-dependent; these folk have little dignity or sense of purpose or power in their own lives.

World Views: Corbin vs Trump from my perspective

Jeremy Corbin and Donald Trump are citizens of different countries, yet they seem to represent two poles that exist in their respective countries, and in many other democracies as well.

Mr Corbin is a socialist, even a Marxist (communist), who thinks ownership and indeed capitalism are evil. In his “world” people should be supported by the state and are not responsible for their limitations; business is evil and government is good.

Mr Trump is a businessman who has a capitalist view; he believes in national boarders to build strong business and economic prosperity for financial stability and security for his (and other) nations.

President Trump recently preached the hope of prosperity and security in the Muslim world if they would stop hating Christians and Jews (Saudi Speech). He was well-received my many of the Muslim leaders. Meanwhile, half of his own population hates him.

The elite in the US are looking for anything that can terminate Trump’s presidency because he is anti-establishment and is a threat to their machinations. Some of these elites may have trumped up hysteria amongst the masses in order to distract Trump from focusing on governing (Trump does himself no favours, as I see it, in getting sucked into debate and self-defence).

In the UK, Prime Minister Theresa May opened up a hornet’s nest* in calling an election to boost her majority and failed to do so. Now, many are calling for her resignation and the leader of the opposition who lost is behaving as though he won; he is baiting the population who support him and seeks to overthrow May. Her own cabinet are sore and some are itching to do the same.

Whether democracy exits with a bang or a whimper, it is experiencing a squeeze. Is it on the way out?

Why does this matter in Spiritual terms?

We know from scripture that when Jesus returns, he will judge the nations, whether they are Godly nations or not (Matthew 25:31-46). There will be a mighty battle and ultimately, Father God will govern the world and, “And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its (New Jerusalem) light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honour into it.’ (Revelation 21:24)

Nowhere in scripture does it say that God is either a communist or a capitalist. He urges us to share with those who have lack (a socialist principle), and he also encourages enterprise (capitalistic in nature) as witnessed in many of Jesus’ parables.

But the road to communism has always led down a path of non-belief in God, whereas capitalism has prospered in Godly nations throughout the centuries. Even though there is corruption and greed in amongst the constructs of capitalism, there is something God blesses in and through it. I see this as example of wheat and tares co-existing, a circumstance which God will ultimately resolve,

“Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” (Matthew 13:30)

As I see it, a sheep nation needs to follow a respect and faith in God or it will not be a part of God’s New Jerusalem.

The battle lines over government on the earth seem drawn

As the One World Government agenda is pushed through various strands of influence, which I’ve written about in previous posts, and as Christians are more and more mocked and persecuted in Western society and in the Middle East, we seem to be drawing near to the return of Jesus and an all mighty battle between good and evil.

Ultimately, it is God versus Satan in all political battles, with humanity at stake.

I find it ironic that those who protest against elected government, who fight to free themselves of the tyranny of capitalism, and are whipped up to protest against financial inequality in order to make themselves more free, are encouraging a new establishment which is steeped in unbelief in a God of love and generosity, and supporting an anti-democratic construct that has proven to increase poverty and usher in a lacklustre, atheistic existence for the masses.

And they are hastening a supernatural battle which we know only God can win.

Freedom in Christ

Only Jesus can make us truly free, while Satan seeks only to ensnare us. Jesus heals and saves, in body, mind and spirit. Satan is full of hatred and death, and entraps any who deny God.

While some exercise their democratic right to protest, we pray that God’s will and Kingdom will come to the earth as it is in heaven.

I pray that the powers and machinations that seek to control us and bind us are soon exposed and the only One World Government that will be ushered in will be done so by the return of the the Prince of Peace.

Can you say “Amen” to that?

*Recently I was in a prayer triplet and one of the others saw in the spirit that the British election (where Theresa May managed a minority government and Jeremy Corbin gathered a large portion of the young electorate) had opened a “hornet’s nest”.

The Demise of Democracy

There have been protests in London, England recently. People are marching against the elected government, blaming their desire to balance the federal budget on a tower block fire that killed almost 100 people.

Ironically, across the globe in Hong Kong, marches took place on the same day, because the people long to be able to vote for legitimate candidates in the true spirit of democracy.

And months ago those who did not vote for President Trump held placards and shouted, “Not my President” in a manner of defiance not seen since the protests against the Viet Nam war in 1972.

Democracy is imploding upon itself.

My perspective

In England, idealistic young innocents believe the rhetoric of the defeated left of centre, take on what they see as the establishment (the right of centre in power), and in their self-righteous idealism, they protest against what they do not like to accept: that the party they voted for did not win.

In Hong Kong, China, people are afraid of losing their special status as part of — and yet separate from — the rest of China, because of their long tradition of being under the British Commonwealth. They herald democracy as a sign of freedom and prosperity.

In the US, President Trump is preaching the hope of prosperity and security in the Muslim world if they will stop hating Christians and Jews ( Trump speech in Saudi Arabia ). Meanwhile, half of his own population is hating him, and the elite are looking for anything that can terminate his presidency because he is anti-establishment and a threat to their machinations. They trump up hysteria amongst the masses in order to distract Trump from focusing on governing (Trump does himself no favours, as I see it, in getting sucked into debate and self-defence).

Whether democracy exits with a bang or a whimper, it does seem to be on the way out.

Those battling the democratic winners are socialist or communist or are pushing the One World Government agenda of the anti-Christ. On the other hand, The End of the Age is near, and when it comes, a new world of Jesus’ order will be established.

Either way, democracy is on the decline and the battle lines for governing the earth have been drawn. It is God versus Satan, with humanity at stake. I find it ironic that those who protest against the conservative establishment are fighting to make themselves more free.

Only Jesus can makes us truly free, while Satan seeks only to ensnare us.

While some protest and as we pray, may God’s will and Kingdom come to earth as it is in heaven.

Christian Persecution in the Last Days

“Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.”

(2 Timothy 3:12)

I recently viewed the movie The Promise, an historical romance based on the facts surrounding the Armenian Genocide in Turkey during the First World War.

Armenian Genocide

During the years 1915 to 1918, Armenians were systematically removed from the Muslim majority society in the Ottoman Empire; they were put into camps or killed, simply because of their cultural and racial heritage. They were Christians.

Genocide is the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political or cultural group (Miriam Webster Collegiate Dictionary, Miriam-Webster Incorporated, Springfield, Mass USA, 2008), such as was undertaken in Nazi Germany against the Jews and homosexuals during WWII, and in Turkey against the Armenian Christians, after they allied with the Germans in WWI.

Until I met and became friends with an Armenian a year or two ago, I had never heard of the Armenian genocide. I hadn’t realised that in the early 20th century Christians had faced persecution on a large — national and international — level. Now, as I look at the present day, such as when ISIS terrorists beheaded men at the waterside, for example, I realise persecution of Christians has been on the rise for some time. This is further evidence that we are in the Last Days before Jesus’ return (see 2 Timothy 3).

Last Days are Perilous Times

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power.” (2 Timothy 3: 1-4) Does this also not describe the times we are in?

The persecution does not always begin with expulsion and death. Whether you are a baker in Belfast, N Ireland or in Oregon in America, you can be persecuted for your faith.

And those who speak on behalf of Christians or their values can also experience persecution. Never has a United States president had such hate thrust upon him, until President Trump. His inauguration speech called for unity and hope, citing Psalm 133 and that the unity of brethren pull together. He asked the citizens of America to stand in solidarity with one another, regardless of colour or economic situation. When a child of poverty, black, white or brown skin goes to bed at night in America, he looks up at the same sky as a child in wealth, black, white or brown skin, he said.

Attack on Trump

But his detractors inspired and continue to insight protest. Then, people raged and carried signs saying, “Not My President”. To my mind their behaviour was reminiscent of the brownshirts’ uprising in fascist Nazi Germany. And yet, they protest, accusing Trump of such sympathies.

Today, while Donald J Trump does himself no favours with his confrontational style and tweets, giving loads of ammunition to his enemies to use against him, he nevertheless has been vilified on a scale never before seen by a US president.

Why is this happening?

I believe at the heart of it is satan, working his way through the minds of those who dislike Trump, using them to attack so he can’t get on with government.

Why would satan take an interest?

Because Jesus is elevated by those who surround the president and Judeo-Christian values are at the heart of his policies.

There is persecution, there is a war going on. We are not to fear. We need to be aware and to be ready.

With persecution comes hope. Jesus will come “in the night”, and he will call us to himself.

We must be sure we have our lamps when he comes, and that they are fully prepped with the oil of the Holy Spirit. We must be dressed as the bride, ready for his call.

As we witness the signs: the deterioration of society and the persecution of Christians to name only two, we must see that the End is near. Jesus will come and he’ll call us to him. We need not to fear but to be ready.

Grenfell Tower Fire, London UK and a Clever Political Twist: Mayor of London Sadiq Khan attacks PM Theresa May for not doing HIS job

Here’s an interesting news headline from The Mirror this week:

“London Mayor Sadiq Khan writes stern letter to Theresa May demanding answers on Grenfell Tower TODAY” (article here: Sadiq Khan’s bait & switch)

The fire that ripped through a 24 story building in London this week in under 30 minutes is the primary current headline in UK news. The day after the fire a child tore a strip into London Mayor Mr Kahn saying, “How many children have died, Mr Kahn?”

Mr Kahn’s ultimate response? He pointed the finger at the Prime Minister Kahn seems to have got the knives out for her, thereby deflecting the heat from himself.

While Theresa May is seeking to ensure the nation is safe from terrorism and financial collapse as well as domestic fire, her political opponents are looking for leverage to look good, sound caring and gain popularity. I’m not usually cynical, but really, the fire took place in London. So why is the Mayor of London pointing the finger at the nation’s Prime Minister as though she is personally responsible to ensure local councils house people safely? If this is her job as national leader, then why does the city need a mayor? I think he is doing this to deflect the attention from himself; sadly, it is working.

To my mind, it is the mayor who should be on top of this situation. Rather than simply offering condolences and pointing the finger of responsibility at someone else, he should be stepping up to the plate and taking responsibility for the London Council of Kensington and Chelsea who housed hundreds of people in a firetrap. Rather than instructing the PM with an action plan, he should get on with taking action himself. The PM has promised funds to the sum of £5 million. Surely the organisation and allocation of the funds should be the responsibility of the local council and the mayor.

I’m writing this comment because I want to expose the tricks of the politicians which the media are playing into, and for us to recognise a clever and dishonest trick: the mayor has managed to get the blame entirely off his shoulders by pointing the finger elsewhere. A true leader doesn’t just comfort and criticise. A true leader takes responsibility and makes a difference.

I am asking us all to think for ourselves, follow our own noses and consider: who is responsible for this tragedy? And how can we ensure this really does never happen again.

We must pray… pray that the people who have experienced this tragedy find the comfort and help from God most high and from authorities who offer assistance, and new homes and funds to re-establish the families. And we must pray for our leaders, that manipulation and smooth talking are exposed for what they are, that honour is given to the suffering and respect to our national leaders.

The Voting Question: NOT Shall I Vote? But FOR WHOM shall I Vote?

Not My Will but Yours O LORD: Yes, Even When Called to Prayer in a Democratic Election

An act of surrender is rarely easy. Even our right to vote is vital to the Kingdom and yet it can be difficult to hear the LORD’s will, because our own thoughts, emotions, experiences and opinions often blot out our ability to hear God’s voice even when we ask. As the world keeps harping on Human Rights, we can so easily buy into that incantation. But when we gave our lives to the LORD, we gave them fully, didn’t we? Unconditionally, we are thankful and keen to follow the Messiah who gave his life so we could live eternally with him.

In every thing we are called to surrender to God. “Not my will but Yours be done.” (Luke 22:42) It’s what Jesus said in the garden and what I aim to do in everything. We all have our moments of Gethsemane haven’t we? Yet, some things are easy to surrender while other things are not.

In our society we have our rights, our freedoms. But in Christ, we have our freedom and liberty to be who God created us to be, while simultaneously yielding everything to him in order to be free from the world, sin and the devil.

How much is everything?

I do not succeed to surrender fully, but I keep trying. “For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do.” (Romans 7:14-15)

There have been and continue to be a lot of elections. In the past 12 months the American election and fall-out has been in the headlines repeatedly. The UK and Brexit have been highlighted and the French elections have brought forth huge change. Across Europe there seems to be a big divide between socialism and capitalism that has grown wider and split nations. But in the midst of all this commotion, surely the LORD’s still small voice is speaking.

But are we listening?

When Samuel was prophet to Israel, the people pleaded for a king, to be like other nations, even though God did not want them to have a king. Today, we may feel strongly in favour or against a particular person or party, but as Believers, surely we must vote for God’s purposes.

Throughout the Bible, He used kings to bless or to curse the nations. There are heinous leaders and there are brilliant ones, but according to scripture, we get the leaders we deserve and GOD’s sovereignty brings particular governors at particular times.

How can we apply surrender in our voting and our politics?

We pray, as in all things, all decisions, all activities. Our lives surrendered to Jesus are not our own.

And what if we don’t hear from God on a voting matter? As in all things, we do our best to seek the LORD and listen to His reply. If we don’t hear Him then we must do our best to practice what we know from His Word. But we must try… try to hear Him for He does speak. We must ask, and we must obey.

“So Samuel said: “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.” (1Samuel 15:22)

UK Election: Call to Prayer for the Nation and for Prime Minister Theresa May

God appoints governments and leaders.

“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.” (Romans 13:1)

But governments and leaders can act outside of God’s will: deliberately, out of ignorance or through presumption and error.

And He changes the times and the seasons;
He removes kings and raises up kings;
He gives wisdom to the wise
And knowledge to those who have understanding.” (Daniel 2:21)

Prime Minister Theresa May of the United Kingdom is one of whom I’ve spoken highly of, because of her integrity and God’s favour upon her.

She’s made a mistake…

In prayer this morning, I had a strong sense of the LORD’s response to her calling an election when she had a small majority, when she felt it wasn’t enough to silence those against her Brexit* plans.

But God gave her a gift in giving her the role of Prime Minister which she didn’t have to win an election to attain. And He gave her a small majority – just enough to lead the nation but with the necessity to lean on Him.

Yet, she didn’t trust in His authority.

She didn’t feel safe to lead the nation into Brexit negotiations without a larger majority, because there were so many who were flowing against her stream. So, she called an election as a “security blanket” when really, she needed to trust in God as her security.

Haven’t we all done that from time to time? I certainly have… I have certainly missed many blessings from God by trying to improve on His gift or by not seeing the present at all, until the time to receive it has long passed. I have been presumptuous and then regretted it, repented of it, and asked for God’s second chance. Sometimes He’s given it, and sometimes it was simply too late.

So I don’t condemn Ms May for her blunder. But it has proven a blunder as her majority and favour appears to be shrinking.

I’m making this a call to prayer: for God’s will to be done in Britain on the 8th of June, for His anger to subside, and for Theresa May to go to Him on bended knee and ask His forgiveness for her presumption. That she needed more politicians on her side, in order to get a positive result in Brexit, is not correct. What she needs is God’s hand and His army in her camp. She had it. I pray God does not remove His hand on her now, or upon the nation.

Will those of you who feel compelled for God’s will to be done in the nation of the United Kingdom please pray with me, and stand with me in the final week of campaigning, and for the result on the 8th of June to be God’s will for Britain and for the World as he is moving so quickly and completely in these days. Can we surrender our own wills and allow God’s will to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. And for a woman who has made a mistake, can we pray for Theresa May, that God would be gentle with her, and that He would show mercy and forgiveness to her, and to the United Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“…if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (1 Chronicles 7:14)

*For those not in the UK who may be unfamiliar with the term Brexit, it is the term coined by media and politicians for the process of the UK leaving the European Union. It stands for British Exit (from the EU), hence, BrExit or Brexit.

Donald Trump: An Unlikely Prophetic Voice for World Peace

Donald Trump speaks to the Muslim world and says the path to peace is possible but only if the Muslim world will drive out the radical terrorists, giving them no home, no finance and no ideological support.

On Sunday 21st May 2017, the president of the United States made a landmark speech in front of the heads of state of the Suni Muslim world. He gave, I believe, a prophetic vision for the future of the Middle East, speaking about: if… you go this way, you will have this but if… you do not go this way, you will have that.

His “this” was a picture of prosperity, where men, women, and children of all faiths, prosper and respect one another, sharing the planet together in harmony. The Arab countries of the Middle East, North Africa and the Far East will prosper.

“That” was the continuance of evil and barbarism.

What struck me was his way of splitting the muslims between those of faith and those of terrorism. He said, “Terrorists do not worship God, they worship death.” People of religion are good but barbaric criminal extremists are evil.

He emphasised the necessity to “drive them out”… that the Muslim world will have to drive out the terrorists if they are to achieve the prosperity they seek.

I have followed politics for many years. I have never heard a secular politician say the way to peace is for the people of the three Abrahamic faiths to unite in their acceptance of one another and their working together as a condition of peace, and yet Donald Trump — laughing stock according to so many journalists and professional politicians — declared the truth no political leader has dared to say: that world peace depends upon the religions of Abraham. He didn’t declare Jesus but at least he recognised that peace will not be won through human rights or politics but through faith in God.

That’s fresh and that’s powerful. It puts responsibility where it belongs and brings hope to an otherwise dying world.

Clearing the Swamp: Getting rid of Unnecessary Expenses to the American Economy and putting money into the public purse

A swamp can look beautiful or it can look ugly, it all depends on the perspective.

For President Trump, the swamp he referred to during his election campaign was unattractive and in now way complementary. He said he wanted to get rid of establishment and bring in a clean way of doing government.

Recently I got a very interesting email from an American cousin of mine. If I had a link I’d have just posted the link… Nevertheless, if these facts are correct, and President Trump proposes a big change, getting rid of these pay debts would be huge to the economy…. But wait, when you’ve finished reading, will you cast a vote? Is this a legit idea? Or not?

The TRUMP Rule:
Let’s see if  congress understands what people pressure is all about.
Salary of retired US Presidents .. . . . .. . . . . .. . $180,000 FOR LIFE.
Salary of House/Senate members .. . . . .. . . . $174,000 FOR LIFE. This is stupid
Salary of Speaker of the House .. . . . .. . . . . $223,500 FOR LIFE. This is really stupid
Salary of Majority / Minority Leaders . . .. . . . . $193,400 FOR LIFE. Stupid
Average Salary of a teacher . . .. . . . .. . . . . .. $40,065
Average Salary of a deployed Soldier . . .. . . .. $38,000
Here’s where the cuts should be made!
TRUMP, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best quotes about the debt ceiling:
“I could end the deficit  in five minutes,” he (TRUMP) told CNBC. “You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3{f63c906b56db17ea373edd5192525d742fde26fad7d1e92561cfd0cfd6619902} of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election”.
The 26th Amendment ( granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds ) took only three months and eight days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971 – before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc.
Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year or less to become the law of the land – all because of public pressure. Trump is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise.
In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around.
Congressional Reform Act of 2017
1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman / woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they’re out of office.
2. Congress (past, present, & future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.
3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3{f63c906b56db17ea373edd5192525d742fde26fad7d1e92561cfd0cfd6619902}.
5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 3/1/17. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women.
Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and go back to work.

End Times: Wisdom and Faithfulness from our Children

What we can learn from our children is so vast. Any parent knows that our children teach us at least as much as we can possibly teach them. Oh, we try… but in their case, they are just being themselves.

Innocence contains wisdom.

Here is something new…

I’ve witnessed — and practiced myself from time to time — tears and deeply felt weeping out of the gratitude for Jesus’ love. Many adults have repented and wept as Jesus receives and forgives.

But here is something new to me: A child weeping, simply and sweetly, broken-hearted and aware that Jesus loves her:

Super Awareness: Toddler Cries because Jesus Loves Her

But why is she weeping? What does she understand that is beyond me?

This child: what does she know? That Jesus loves her. But for me, her tears are Jesus’ tears for those who aren’t paying attention.

I’m paying attention and I’m drawn to Joel 2.

“Blow the shofar in Zion…”

Looking deeply into Joel 2, will you see what I see? I believe this world as we know it has an end that is drawing near; when children have the wisdom and the grief of Jesus what else can it mean?

Joel 3 begins,

So it will be afterward,
I will pour out My Ruach on all flesh:
your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.”

Are we far from this?

Awake men and women of God. light your lamps and keep them full of oil. The days are drawing near. When is the day of the LORD at hand?

People were marrying and being given in marriage in the days of Noah and the days of Lot. Most did not notice, most did not pay attention. The signs were there but few heeded.

Now, at such a time as this, Believers do not take your salvation for granted. Draw near to God, He will draw near to you.

Awake, be ready, watch.

How soon is the Day of the Lord upon us?

Oh, Another Election: End Times – Elections, Economics and God’s Will

END TIMES: Electoral Voting, Economies and God’s Will

Across the UK we voted for government in 2015. Then we voted on the EU Referendum in 2016. Now it’s 2017 and we’re voting again! In Scotland, this is election #4 in three years. Though democracy is a hard fought privilege, many are thinking, “enough is enough”.

But the nature of these elections are truly unique, not only in their frequency but also in their spiritual significance. Across the globe there has been a lot of voting going on, and in the UK the election is within the next few weeks.

Does this spate of elections have anything to do with the End Times?

“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. …” (Matthew 25:31-33)

We learn as the scripture goes on that the sheep are blessed and the goats are not.

Scripture also says, “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.” (Romans 13:1)

Is He preparing our nations for Judgement? Is Jesus returning so soon that the governments are being prepared for his judgment of the nations?

As believers in the sovereignty of God and followers of Jesus, it is important to vote prayerfully, and to enable God to continue to do His work in whichever nation we have a vote.

But I sense in the bigger picture, that our votes are about much more than who the next leader of our countries are going to be.

I have a hunch the nature of these elections are truly unique, not only in their frequency but also in their spiritual significance. I wonder if the LORD isn’t giving democracies the opportunity to take a stand for right over wrong.

This past weekend, my husband and I discussed the situation. He mentioned something interesting. Tyre was a trading nation — a negotiating nation — and it collapsed. As Britain seeks trade, will the LORD be displeased? Is there something supernatural about trade that the Lord abhors? Is it shades of Babel all over again when nations try to build their towers where the LORD has created boundaries?

Satan is a negotiator. He negotiated with Eve so that she would take the forbidden fruit. He tried to negotiate with Jesus when he tempted him with three “ifs”.  He negotiates with us every time we fast and pray, tempting us to eat something “just a little” or when we are tempted to cheat or tell “just a little white” lie.

Satan is the arch deal-maker.

When a nation deals, is that not a sign of its decline? It was with Tyre. It has been with Britain.

Was the modern golden age of Britain not when it was a manufacturing nation, when it produced cars, planes, trains, ships; linen, glass, Wedgewood/china, lace, sterling silver and stainless steel, clothing?

Now its biggest industry is banking. The text “you cannot serve both God and mammon” comes to mind.

Donald Trump is seeking to return the States to manufacturing, so it has goods to sell and supplies within it’s boundaries. Is it purely socio-economic, so the nation can build employment again? Or is it also prophetic? Is the End as we know it is near and nations will need to be self sufficient post apocalypse?

The nation who’s economy is growing is China; it seems everything is “made in China” these days!

Theresa May is diligently seeking trade deals beyond its borders so the British economy can carry on. But Britain needs to trade its services; it doesn’t produce much anymore. Should it go back to manufacturing?

The nations of Europe originally came together for trade. Now they are intertwined, and the economies of some are very precarious. One of the major issues politicians debate over Britain leaving the EU is trade.

Tyre was one nation in ancient times that was opulent, successful and proud with its trade; the LORD was unimpressed.

Worldwide, what are we heading for? Society seems to be accelerating to somewhere. Where are we going? What should nations do to prepare? Are our elections preparing the way?

For any believer, we need to pray, serve, love and do as the LORD leads. May we keep our ears to the ground, our eyes looking upward and our hearts pinned to the LORD who is our cornerstone, our rock and our life.

Media and Donald Trump: An Observation

Donald Trump has been in office for just over 100 days. The mainstream media who mocked him is turning, ever-so-gradually, to acknowledging his presidency.

There are still those tv journalists who seem to revel when he does something that looks like failure, but they are beginning to show some respect too. They are admitting at least that he is the president of the United States, rather than a mistake that happened. They don’t seem to choke as they did originally, at calling him “President Trump”.

I notice they don’t praise him, though the universal opinion is that his decision to bomb Syria after Assad rained down chemical weapons (again) on his own people was in favour of it. But particularly since that decision, most journalists seem to be choosing a more objective language when covering a story about the US or commenting about the president.

They seem to have become self aware of their tendency to editorialise and criticise, and that is a good thing. Personally, I think Trump’s determination to expose them has helped, as has his stomping on political correctness by being blunt.

But Donald Trump too has changed. He is still hailing the victory of the silent majority in the United States but also seems to be aware of the importance of diplomacy. With North Korea rising as a real threat to world peace, the president is realising he needs to balance his words of power and strength with the need for diplomatic attempts too. To try to deter war is his aim, though he is still “telling it like it is” as a possibility.

Let’s continue to pray for the president and for all our leaders.

Let’s also continue to pray that the media will return to its true purpose, which is to share realities with the public so that the public can be informed objectively… rather than be swayed into a perspective that is bias.

As these days are intense, full of news of violence and aggression, let us also pray that the peace of God which passes all understanding will fill the hearts of our world leaders and media, and that the world will recognise the truth of the gospel before Jesus’ return to judge it.

Theresa May: Does Integrity in Politics pay off

I wouldn’t take her job if it were offered to me.

PM of Britain. Did Theresa May stand in the mirror as a sixteen year old and practice a victory speech after a British Federal Election and thank her imaginary voters for making her Prime Minister?

I’ve given a few imaginary victory speeches in my life, but never for winning a federal election.

This woman has guts and there seems to be very little glory. She’s running again… As a politician she’s been in many elections but this will be her first as leader of the Conservative Party in Britain, the favoured to win in the election on 8th of June.

But – to my transAtlantic readers I address – how is it that there is an election if she’s in the favoured party and there isn’t an election due for three years? What’s the point?

The point is that Theresa May stepped in when PM David Cameron lost “his” referendum on European Union membership. He stepped down and out of politics and, after a brief tussle for leadership, Ms May won and has been at the helm ever since. But while the people in the country seem to like her more than they liked her predecessor, some in her own party grumble. And there are many grumblers in the Senate as well… grumblers not against Theresa May in particular, but sour grapes or “rumbly tumblys” over the issue of Brexit. Of course there is the issue of voters not actually voting for Theresa May as their PM but that’s a relatively minor issue in the Parliamentary System that Britain has.

A year ago Britain went to the polls and voted to leave the EU. It wasn’t a resounding victory, in fact it was quite a surprise and quite a close result. But Theresa May has worked uphill just to get through the initial process to trigger the exit. And, by the way, she wasn’t a Leaver! She didn’t particularly want the country to leave the EU but since it has voted to do so, she has pulled out all the stops to make sure it happens.

Now that the trigger has been fired, and the UK has formally told the EU “We are leaving”, comes the hard task of making a good deal with the EU and countries around the world, so that the bottom doesn’t fall out of British life. Theresa May has to do the dealing. But with many politicians wishing to remain and sticking in their heals, and moaning that they don’t like how she’s suggesting a post Brexit Britain will look, they threaten to make it darn near impossible for her to deal.

So she wants a big mandate from the public to proceed in the manner she has been doing.

She’s going to the polls — again. Against her personal desires, and against the wishes of most ordinary folk who are quite fed up with elections, she’s telling folks, ‘If you like what I’m doing to honour your vote, help me finish the job… otherwise, my hands are tied and we’ll get bad deals all-round’. Well, she hasn’t said that but that is basically an accurate picture. Remainers are still trying to avoid the inevitable reality of Britain leaving the EU, and seem still to be trying to influence and control the next steps.

Theresa May is working for an outcome she didn’t expect or express she believed in, and is doing it because that’s what the electorate voted for. That is integrity personified! From where I’m sitting, she is exhibiting democratic leadership and holding a selfless agenda.

The early polls suggests she’s going to win. If she doesn’t win with a big majority, those against her will hound and needle and track her until there is little room left for her to finesse and orchestrate her deals for Britain.

Yup, Britain is going to the polls again. Let’s see if the mandate she needs is what she gets. Let’s see if a selfless politician is able to bring Britain the new hope it voted for, and lead us into a new era — into the vast unknown. Sounds interesting to me. What do you think?

What the United Airlines fiasco tells us about our Western Society: signs of the times

Fly the Friendly Skies?

Society is becoming increasingly aggressive. What, for example, does the embarrassing public relations disaster that is the United Airlines’ eviction of one of its customers from a plane warn us about our times?

Last week Dr Dao wouldn’t leave voluntarily. He had his ticket and his seat. But UA wanted some of the seats back. They forced Dr Dao off the plane to make available his seat to a UA employee. To the distress of all the passengers, Dr Dao was humiliated because he wouldn’t comply to pressure.

When bullies force a 69 year old citizen off a plane it reminds me of the brownshirts in Nazi Germany before WWII. It also tells me a lot about how our society has degenerated in recent times.

What was the attack

Degrading themselves through acts of bullying, the staff at United Airlines demonstrated that survival of the fittest, money and power, and the-end-justifies-the-means hold prominence against the qualities of grace, humility and service in the eyes of some big businesses, and their employees. This is not new, but it is shocking that in a Secular Humanist Era, one that boasts of humanity being capable of taking care of itself without God, and where political correctness is supreme, this could happen.

The consequence of ditching the teaching of the Ten Commandments has left people bereft of a powerful code of behaviour that is civilised. Thank goodness passengers recognised the brutality was wrong, but it took a while for the UA CEO even to apologise for the abuse, and that was primarily because of public opinion against the actions on the plane rather than any inherent sense of shame or regret.

What has happened is that the moral compass in our society has shifted from an absolute code, as defined by the Ten Commandments and the teachings of Jesus, to a foggy concept of good and bad, that is adaptable, depending on public opinion and the opinion of the media. There is a serious lack of power or authority in our current social values. It has been eroding over decades with consequences that range from unwanted pregnancy and abortion, to crime and substance abuse rising and continuing to rise with little hope of change.

So when employees on a plane need to have an end result, they force the result they want because they lack the ability to determine right from wrong, and to exclude options that are uncivilised and untenable.

Is it because children are not taught the Ten Commandments that homicide – planned murder – is considered by many young adults when polled, “Would you kill your neighbour’s spouse if s/he offered you a million dollars?” I think it is.

But so far, I’m preaching to the converted, literally… Readers will on the whole agree with me that we need a return to Judeo-Christian values in order to save our society from itself. So of what value is there to my writing about this?

Who is our ally

We need to be aware there is a movement afoot to shift back to what is wholesome, powerful and pure. The agents may not be those whom we would choose, but God chooses our leaders and so we must pray for and stand with them.

When someone(s) you don’t see eye to eye with upholds the values that God originated, let’s stand with them. God is supplying push-back and we need to get on the band wagon of those He’s given authority to.

Whether it is the boss at work, or a political leader, or a celebrity, those who stand for what is Godly will experience hate and a backlash, so they need our support.

Dr Dao is suing the Airline. Many would say he’s justified. The actions of the UA employees was nothing short of diabolical.

But they are pawns. Dr Dao is a pawn. The real enemy is not United Airlines or their CEO of staff members. It isn’t even the tendency for UA to overbook their flights. The real enemy is the same source that ignited the brown shirts and the legalisation of abortion, and who is the source for anything that seeks death and destruction.

Who is the enemy

Death and destruction is on the rise. Satan’s days are short. He may know this. But this much is certain: there is a war between what is Godly and what is not. We who are called by Him must take a stand on one side of the road and stand with all others who seek to uphold and defend right from wrong, the Bible as the inerrant Word of God, and stand against the tempest that Satan is wreaking. We are soldiers, there is a war, and we have been chosen to fight.

How do we fight

The sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God is where we start (Ephesians 6). We band together because where two or more are gathered, there is He in the midst (Matthew 18:20). And we remember how good and pleasant it is when we dwell together in unity (Psalm 133). We represent a mighty and good God. Let us walk in the courage and confidence of our convictions, ready to share and waiting for God to lead us.

Dr Dao’s plight was horrendous. It is a marker of what society unchecked is capable of. And we who see the wrong have the opportunity to sow righteousness and point to the Founder of it to those who seek it. Our behaviour and attitude must stand upright as we seek to reconcile others to God. And we can no longer watch from the sidelines.

Exposing the Towers of Babel: Part 2 Can we go forward in our Democracy

Exposing the Towers of Babel: Part 2 Can we go forward in our democracy without imploding?

Who are the Fascists really?

Fascist activity sprang from a rejection of freedom of expression. Aggression was it’s tool. The brownshirts of Nazi Germany were aggressive and destroyed public and personal property.

Donald Trump was accused by the media of representing and fostering a fascist movement. Now we have Assad in Syria gassing his own people – again, and suddenly the media is no longer harping on Trump in quite the same way. But I digress…

To my mind, the aggression on Inauguration Day of those who opposed Trump’s presidency revealed their hearts, and in so doing, they displayed the attitude and behaviour of which they accused Trump and his supporters.

There is a divide in American politics, which is also visible throughout Europe. Secular Humanism is at odds with its own roots: the JudeoChristian values and laws on which the West was built. But this divide must be mended because there is a much greater threat to Western society.

At the Heart of Islam

As migration increases from Northern Africa and the Middle East into Western society, and as a significant Muslim population moves into Europe, bringing with it its culture and religion, both JudeoChristian values and Secular Humanist values are under challenge. What we have in common is democracy. Perhaps that is the place where we need to come together.

Islam, whether peaceful or not, has a manifesto to take over the countries in which its people reside. Rather than assimilate, this group stands on its own faith and culture, and according to many, seeks to alter the political and legal landscape.

Can we Stand to Stand together?

In the political climate of Western society, the establishment which is under threat. From outside there is a force which seeks to break it open and pull it down. On the other hand, the establishment does not like transparency and seems to prefer things as they are, denying corruption and the manipulation of the people. Who is right and who is wrong?

One is seeking to destroy the Towers of Babel (clean the cesspool), the other is saying the Towers of Babel hold things in place (offer security).

Given Arab Spring and the collapse of that society’s Towers, I think it is fair to say there is a danger to have nothing in place. But in their zeal to come against threat, some of those who fight to protect liberal values seem blinded by their own self-righteousness. The liberal-minded Secular Humanist attitude manifests as radical and intolerant behaviour.

For a long while, I sense there has been an undercurrent of hostility toward traditional values which runs like this,

“We can stifle the Christians, we can suppress the Jews, but we must placate the Muslims because otherwise they’ll turn on us.”

Well, some of them have turned on us anyway!

Christians have been a silent majority for decades. Under Trump there is a hope that freedom of expression will return and with it the values of righteousness under God. Some have demonstrated a level of passion equal to the Secular Humanists. At the other extreme are those faithful who watch and pray for God’s Word to be upheld and honoured.

Arab spring occurred in an atmosphere of oppression in the Middle East. Although it began in Tunisia, it spread like wild fire. A direct result is the situation in Syria, where the established government clings to power, and forces citizens who do not like the ruler to flee or be killed. ISIS is the opposition, seeking to destroy Assad’s regime, and any others in the West who do not value Islamic systems.

We don’t want collapse in the West. But fighting from within makes it difficult to combat the intrusion of a different system, that of Islam.

A house divided against itself cannot stand (Matthew 12:25). Instead, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity (Psalm 133).

We in the West have to work together if we want to hang onto Democracy. I’m not suggesting moral or value compromise, but if we want democracy to continue, surely we need to stand together with those who adhere to it, in order to defend it.

Exposing the Towers of Babel: part 1 Dictatorship by Stealth, Liberalism by Design

A Look at Politics – Particularly in America

God establishes rulers,

“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.” (Romans 13:1)

Who are the Fascists, really?

Donald Trump has been accused of being a Fascist. Those who voted for Brexit have been described as being ignorant and UKIP as extreme right wing (racist and perhaps even Fascist).

But I propose that the behaviour of those against Trump, Brexit and UKIP are behaving like ousted dictators. So, who are the Fascists… really?

Britain and America have voted for change. Sovereignty in Britain and Conservatism in America seem to be preferred, but by a narrow margin. As other more right-wing contenders are on the rise across Europe, what can be agreed is that voters across the democratic West are divided over whether to maintain the liberal progressive status quo or to shift back to tradition.

It seems ironic that the established “status quo” is liberal: pro-choice on the abortion issue, pro-gay rights within society’s structure have helped to define the overall perspective of the current left. Over a number of decades, Western society has gradually swung away from Judeo-Christian values, which was once the established tradition and norm. Recently, the long-silenced voices of these traditionalists have begun to speak again; the American election heralded a swing back to more conservative values, for example. Their opponents however, are zealous in their attacks through the media and protest, and hope to maintain their influence.

By small percentages, Brits and Americans have voted to return to tradition. But the losing side: made up of the establishment, the media and some voters are reeling at the prospect of change. Some have been hysterical in their attacks against Brexit and against Trump.

What is really going on?

From Genesis 11:4-9 comes the following,

“And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.”

Over decades, powerful people have set up a number of systems to control the masses. Then they’ve used the media to manipulate and sway the public to their view. Business, pharmacy, medicine, science, politics are all under the control of a wealthy elite, who remain nameless and faceless. These elite have constructed their Towers of Babel and want to remain at the top of them. That’s my belief. I can’t prove it.

As an onlooker (I did vote in the British referendum, but I live in Spain which gives me some degree of distance; as a Canadian I grew up close to but separate from American politics and development), I think the establishment feels under threat, and are attacking their opponents using any means available to them in order to hang on to control. They are using fear tactics and propaganda to twist words and facts, disturbing the peace of mind of the ordinary voter. They even imply that a shift away from them is akin to inviting a fascist takeover.

But to my mind, their use of propaganda, accusation and fear mongering indicates a dictator’s strategies much more than anything their opponents have said or done.

What does the establishment want? Money? Power? Perhaps they are altruists, seeking to protect society, and are guarding against collapse and chaos. Whether their motives are for personal gain or to protect society, the red flag for me is their lack of respect toward the result of the democratic process.

Who is The Establishment?

I see the establishment as,

  1. those who have been in elected office
  2. those who want government to continue to operate as it has done for decades, and wield their money and influence to ensure it
  3. international non-governmental bodies with their own hidden agendas

I’ve discussed those in elected office, those of influence and those in the media. There are also non-governing bodies which wield huge influence and power.

Towers of Babel, whether for good or for evil, are manmade constructs. They are built and run by people. Global, non-governmental institutions such as the United Nations and the International Monetary Fund, also part of the Tower Stucture, have their agendas. Individual nations are not democratically electing the leaders of these organisations, yet they seem to wield the greatest power. The governments have so far kept in step. Now, with Trump and May as leaders, there is a shift. Institutions and those who support them are vehemently resisting the shift, however.

Donald Trump says he is representing those in support of a shift back to what is the traditional in America. Theresa May, PM of UK, is standing up for the Brits who voted for sovereignty and against EU membership. These two and other opposition leaders in Europe are anti-establishment and pro-democratic. I don’t think they are fascist and I don’t think they are dictators. (However it’s another irony that wealthy billionaire Trump has made his empire by building what? Towers!)

What is going on? People have voted for a change in political leadership and methodology, and those who didn’t get their vote are uncomfortable.

Personally, I don’t see a shift from liberalism to conservatism as equivalent to a shift from freedom to fascism. In fact, I don’t see either side as fascist, but I do see an undercurrent of control being exposed that doesn’t want to be exposed.

Let’s look at two perspectives: from those who won and those who lost in the elections.

The Conservative Perspective against a Liberal Agenda

If we are to believe conservative strands of the non-mainstream media, there is a secretly-controlled mechanism that rules the common man by stealth. Non-democratic organisations stand above the accountability of the free will of the people. Governments and politicians support and uphold these institutions and the elite are straining to ensure the powers of the UN, EU, the IMP are upheld.

International organisations such as these wield tremendous power, influence and money. They coerce ordinary people and governments under the guise of interventionist “help” by attaching specific conditions to their Aid; these conditions are very liberal and socialist. While on the surface, they have a mandate to keep peace, maintain international unity and ensure financial stability, they manipulate governments who seek assistance. The governments in need will receive Aid subject to specific social conditions and moral expectations being met. The terms are liberal, which suggests the institutions offering the Aid know right from wrong better than the people or nations themselves.

For example, some conservative circles suggest that the IMF will not contribute financial help to nations unless they subscribe to planned parenthood, including abortion. The IMF then has a bias toward pro-choice. There are several strands of a liberal agenda within the institutional structure of non-democratic global organisations that hold influence over nations and peoples. This is a particularly sensitive area, yet only one of many weighty social/moral areas of contention.

Pressure to conform to a particular world view is usually hidden. The masses in both the nations offering the aid and the nations receiving it are meant to accept a new norm of Liberalism and Humanism. But this is a world view which is opposite to the Judeo-Christian principles on which Western nations — and many colonies as well — were built. The conservative perspective tends to prefer the old principles rather than the new Liberal Humanist agenda.

The Liberal Perspective* distrusts Christianity

On the other hand, there are those in support of the global organisations and even in globalisation itself. They recognise the limitations of people and wish to ensure the protection of humanity against war, famine, disease and over population.

A liberal view holds more trust and acceptance toward the institutions than is its conservative counterpart. My interpretation of it I describe thus:

What seems good in the eyes of the institution is good, because it has a greater insight into the global situation than does the ordinary voter. Peace is desirable, and it is attainable under certain conditions; poverty can be overcome with man’s efforts to do so. Unity within our society is the best way to ensure peace. Globalisation, with national borders being less important than universal harmony, is desirable. Man can make this planet work if we all row together to make it happen. Moral standards are determined by what is right in our enlightened times; while tragically, some people don’t see this as the right way forward, if they could see things as we do, then they’d understand. The institutions, governments, and authorities must protect us against ourselves, because we are incapable of seeing clearly. Ordinary folk aren’t really able to understand fully, so institutions only need to share what we absolutely need to know. Judeo-Christian traditions are intolerant and oppose our views of right and wrong, so to limit those voices facilitates the achievement to our cause.

Well, if these are the two sides, and there has been a democratic vote, why is the established, more liberal side having such a hard time, this time, to let go?

Is it because of a lust for power? Or are they scared of the consequences of a structural collapse? Perhaps we are in danger of our own “Arab Spring” in the West.

I think they are balking because up until now the democratic sides have essentially agreed to co-operate, and the power base for the institutions and the elite have always remained in tact. But now, the Brexit folk and the Donald Trump team are refusing to cooperate; the institutions have lost their ultimate power, and they know it.

The end does not justify the means

I don’t think it matters the reason for the rejection of the democratic result. The reaction is hypocritical, and therefore earns no respect, in my view. The establishment has made accusations and excuses for their rejection of the democratic vote, has insulted the voter, and has manipulated the mainstream news.

I don’t believe the end ever justifies the means. Hiding the truth or attempting to indoctrinate by the use of propaganda (of which I include political correctness as one key tool) just to keep control is, in my opinion, cheating. It’s  undemocratic. One either believes in democracy and the equal right of all citizens to make an informed decision and exercise the right to vote, or one does not.

As to the issue of supplying Aid: to suppress free thought or to bribe another entity, be it a country or an individual in order to get them to act as you wish them to act, tempts them and attempts to coerce them away from true freedom of conscience and thought.

I find it ironic that the conservatives, who tend naturally to represent the establishment are the group that seem to be the anti-establishment. That’s because in the West, we seem to have swung so far away from traditional values that what was once seen as righteous is no longer accepted. As scripture predicted, ‘right has become wrong and wrong right.’

Arab spring occurred in an atmosphere of oppression in the Middle East. Though it began in Tunisia, it spread like wild fire, and as a direct result we have the situation in Syria, where the established government is clinging to power, forcing citizens who do not like the ruler to flee or to be killed.

We don’t want that in the West. But could we in danger of heading in that direction? If the result of a democratic vote is not accepted by a vocal, demonstrative part of the population, and they are being fueled by the losing side and the media, maybe that is where we are heading.

Perhaps, by accusing the winner, Donald Trump, of Fascism, we may end up creating the dictatorship we seem to fear. But not because Donald Trump is the maniac, but because some others who refuse to accept the democratic result, are.

And if the two sides within our democratic societies don’t learn to stand together, they may both fall under a far bigger threat…

Stay tuned for “Exposing the Towers of Babel: Part 2” next time

* I admit I’m less familiar or sympathetic to this view, so please correct me if I’m wrong…
