Black Lives Matter. Women’s Lives Matter. Babies Lives Matter. Muslim Lives Matter. Christian Lives Matter….
But human rights can get in the way of real communication and real progress, and sometimes it does.
Human rights doesn’t seem to look at culture and can demand equality rather than recognising there are differences that need resolving. Just shoving a label of accusation at one group and and demanding rights for another isn’t a real solution, is it?
When I saw recently that the UK government was being sued by some Christian churches because of the lockdown, I thought that was an ultimate betrayal of the spirit of freedom, and the scripture that asks us to pray for and obey the government (Romans 13, Titus 3).
There is a spirit — an evil spirit — behind the declaration of human rights. Please hear me through…. the sentiment is precious and relevant and important. But split the hair and what do you get? An excuse for complaint, defiance and rebellion.
When our blood begins to boil at perceived injustice, ask: is this the Holy Spirit? If it is not, it is the flesh (1 Corinthians 3). There is no middle ground.
I think life matters. I think church matters. But GOD matters more than anything else, and He wants us to be changed, transformed, through the renewing of our minds, not through strife and demand. Fighting the government is not what GOD wants. And we, in our pursuit of Jesus, Holiness and Sanctification, must want what GOD wants.
Rebellion in the guise of the pursuit of our human rights is not Godly.
Church, wake up to what GOD is saying. He is sovereign. He is not disturbed by a virus, but He can use that virus to speak to us. In all circumstances, we allow GOD to reign, correct? So, let us rise up in faith, and spiritual warfare…. but not warfare in the flesh. Let’s not assume church is meant to remain as it was. Don’t fight for what GOD wants to change. Swim in the stream of the Holy Spirit. Discern and discover how GOD wants to move now.
I will follow on in another blog post, more about church and our need to allow GOD to reshape His church — His people — into the likeness of His son, Jesus/Yeshua, the “author and finisher of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2).
I pray. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Amen. Thank you, Bryan. Every blessing as we enter Shabbat.
I agree, Sarah. I believe God is wanting to give us a whole new revelation of what Church is, and it does not depend on meeting in buildings!
Indeed. Perhaps there is a Remnant of Believers who are not tied to the old way of church but are looking to the way Jesus has always wanted to build his church but has been prevented by tradition: first Constantine, then others have set up a structure that has remained largely the same (theology changes but structure very little) for 1700 years.
Let’s pray that the Father steers more and more to the knowledge and revelation and awareness that His church is not as we have built.
The enemy is always looking to create or hijack situations which he can weaponize to his advantage and nothing that we’ve seen in past weeks / Months is excluded.
Take a look at the message in this following video as it draws back the curtains on one such situation.
Indeed, as one of the women interviewed said, “GOD is first”. The issues are brought up in a thoughtful and careful way in this video you’ve posted.
One other aspect I saw a few weeks ago (sadly I’ve not got it to hand) claimed that BLM is a fund-raiser for the Democratic Party (if one follows the trail if a donation is given to BLM, the trail leads, apparently, to the Democratic Party.
At 12:30 on the video, the host says “we need to get back to” fundamental values.
