Altar of Elijah
1 Kings 18:38-29 reads,
“Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, “The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!”
Fire burns, fire cleanses, fire purifies
Are we willing and ready to receive the Fire of GOD — to strip us of everything that is of ourselves and be empowered from on High to do the work of Our LORD?
We need to be ready for GOD’s coming
Are we going to be a part of the fire of GOD or will we be passed over?
There is a surrender that the LORD asks of us: complete and full and whole. Are we there yet?
Children ask on a car journey, “Are we there yet?” So, I ask, “Are we “there” yet” Are we ready for Jesus’ return?
In 2 Thessalonians 2, the people believed Jesus was returning any day. And it seems from scripture, that they lived as such.
With the events sited by Jesus in Matthew 24 and Luke 21 happening now, just as we live and breathe today, it seems we are “nearly there” and so we must be ready.
Signs of our readiness.
There are things to look for to see if we’re ready: Are we broken on the rock of Jesus? Is there unity within the church — the body of Christ? Is there a total surrender to who He is, to His authority and power, by individual followers and by the church as a whole?
The Anointing
Who is ready to receive the fullness of His anointing? That is what will make us ready for His return.
Consequences of Abdication
We have an evil that is seeking to subvert Christian freedom of expression of faith in Western society today. That evil is satan and we combat it with all our spiritual might. This includes batting heads with those who are acting on satan’s behalf, even though they are most likely completely oblivious to that. Those who believe in no god or in any god other than the Most High Jehovah are acting on satan’s behalf.
Are we who walk with Jesus ready with the Word to combat? Because the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but spiritual. (Ephesians 6:10-18). The only offensive weapon is the sword of the Spirit, which is not a metal blade but the Word of GOD.
We cannot combat in our own strength; but in the power of GOD and in unity together, we can combat all the fiery darts of the enemy. (Ephesians 6:16)
Are we ready with the Word? Are we ready in our spirit? Are we ready to love our enemy and to serve one another to the glory of GOD?
“Are we there yet?”
