A Word of Warning

Let us not take the LORD for Granted

When the Hebrews were under siege and their nation was under threat, they asked of their prophet how they might overcome.

Jeremiah 21:2-5 says

“Please inquire of the Lord for us, for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon makes war against us. Perhaps the Lord will deal with us according to all His wonderful works, that the king may go away from us.” Then Jeremiah said to them, “Thus you shall say to Zedekiah, ‘Thus says the Lord God of Israel: “Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, with which you fight against the king of Babylon and the Chaldeans who besiege you outside the walls; and I will assemble them in the midst of this city. I Myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger and fury and great wrath.

Today

Are people in the West naive? Blind and deaf? Rebellious? What of those who follow Jesus? Are some of us straying from GOD’s will, word and way? Matthew 24:24 says some will,

“For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”

Gentile Believers

Will GOD protect the Gentiles today who sin any more than he would His chosen people the Jews in ancient times? I think not.

Society has strayed so far from GOD’s will. Yehovah, the Father of Creation and the Father of those who seek to follow Jesus, has warned us not to be drawn into what “feels” good or looks attractive. An easy Gospel message is not Jesus’ message.

Stick with your own study of the Word

We must not listen to charmers — those promising rich rewards or procurement of wealth, but to the Word of GOD and what we know is right. GOD will provide as He promises, but we cannot chase after it nor those who promise it. We cannot serve GOD and mammon (“bread”, money)
